I hate cadence

Can you remember a time when there were only two alicorns? Me neither D:

Come on guys, there’s no reason to come down so hard on Cadence. She’s a genuinely nice and loving pony.

Hopefully, she’ll be more developed in the future.

Meh, Cadance doesn’t bother me too much, I just wish she had flaws. She’s portrayed as a perfect pretty pink princess who never does wrong,

I honestly don’t care. I like Cadence and that is all that matters to me. :3

Luna, I think, is the most developed princess so far in terms of her character and personality. However, that doesn’t make up for the fact that she’s had little screentime. Aside from Eclipsed and Sleepless, she’s essentially been used as dressing. ACW, TCE, MMC, she does nothing other than be there. She’s got a personality, but sees little use aside from being a background character.
 
Cadance is a fairly flat character. If you asked me to describe her character, but not her specifically, I’d be hard-pressed to find adjectives beyond what Twilight said in the Wedding episodes. But Cadance has shown up the most often, ironically enough. She had the Wedding episodes, where she had a song; the Crystal Empire episodes, where she shielded the entire empire; and Games Ponies Play, where she had to prepare herself to meet with the Games Inspector - duties that make sense given her position of power. She actually does things.
 
As for Celestia… hoo boy. She showed up a lot in Season 1, and her status and power were generally shown off. That’s what gave her her impact. Characters bowed to her (of their own volition, showing how popular Celestia is with the populace). She was at important events, like the Best Young Fliers thing, or the Falling of the Leaves, or the Gala. She showed up and actually had a basic personality form. In Season 2, she still had some screentime at the start. She was shown to fallible (important to give a character of her status some depth) and angry or serious, and she showed off her magic ability in Lesson Zero, giving us a taste of what she could do. She continued to have impact because we saw how powerful she was, both in action and in personality.
 
Her appearances then started to drop off around the end of Season 2, and in Season 3 she barely shows up. I saw her in CE, and in MMC… and I honestly forget any other S3 episodes where she might have possibly been. She no longer has any impact because of her lack of use, and feels less like a character with great power and status and more like a figurehead character who the audience is supposed to react to just because. One showing of dark magic at the start is not enough to salvage her disuse, and it’s honestly unfortunate given that Celestia was an enjoyable character to see earlier in the show.

This is butthurt from people who are mad that Cadance is a better princess than Celestia or Luna.
