Luna was corrupted by something Dark and even if we didnt see any downside in the two episodes that used it, we might (yeah right).

We can still assume it corrupts and Celestia could fall to it (or Twilight who is less experienced with it and can be tempted by knowledge and such)

It’s interesting that the show gave us no explicit downside to using dark magic. Celestia and Twilightnuse it rather casually and suffer no ill effects. Even with King Sombra, the show basically tells us he was rotten to begin with (seeing as they opted out of redemption for a straight up slaying) and not corrupted by it. Of course, with Sombra we’ll never really know…
