Well that’s painfully easy! The first thing i’ll do to help reduce our impact on climate change [as it is a natural phenomenon, and we are affecting it negatively, not ‘causing it’ and thus cannot ‘stop it’ either :D], Will be to ‘not’ fly gas chuggling emission vomitting private jets allover the world telling people to produce less emissions while I crank out hundreds of times more than any one person has a right to, and ‘actually’ produce less emissions! :D

If only we had a fluttershy fluttering around the world spreading the message instead!

If only we could get less liars and hypocrites using it for power grabs and profit, and more scientists showing off their fucking evidence of it, maybe enough people would be convinced to do something about it… but that’s unfortunately not possible in this era, the uncaring royalty under a new name know they’re absolutely untouchable and thus have no need to care about who actually suffers the consequences for their greed.

Still, personally, I don’t believe that humanity is powerful enough to be faulted for it [especially with some of our largest nations going in as hard as they can on pollution yet receiving little to no pushback unless they’re America.] Humanity perceived as a single organism, is like a brain-damaged animal, it doesn’t have enough control of itself to even have each leg move in the same direction so it can ‘stand’, nevermind hunt and feed itself… we’re like a mutant organism who’s sections are all working against eachother.

can’t tell if serious of not, but i’ve lived through a dozen proclaimed ‘end of the world’s if you don’t give us all the power so we can stop it’ scenarios already.
Climate change is a natural phenomenon, it has happened non-stop since the origin of earth’s atmosphere. we can influence it certainly, but the number of times we’ve been told we’re dooming ourself in ‘x time period that has long since passed’ with no doomsday coming, has fractured this ideal so much that it can’t possibly gain enough believers to be solved at this point.

The acquisition of resources is another matter. Wars are usually started as a way to take another country’s resources. It doesn’t really matter much what kind of economic system the country has.

This reads like bait. How many times have we been told we have a century, a decade, five years, twenty years….and yet, here we are. I get that things aren’t amazing, and the ecological crises caused by the current system are unforgivably bad, but guess what? Wind farms use metals that can’t be cut without diamond saws, and can’t be reduced past cutting and burying them. Lithium ion used in solar paneling is mined by child slaves in China and other third-world countries that we throw our resources into propping up.

Far as I’m concerned, nuclear is the lesser of the evils. So quit being preachy about this stuff, or at least stop plastering fandom characters onto serious messages you don’t even understand.

That ended up being a small isolated incident that ended up helping the wildlife.

It may be scary. But we can only improve and innovate if we conquer that fear.
We are starting to see the steps toward smaller and more personal nuclear energy.

I would say most people do not trust nuclear energy cause, similar to me, they still remember what happened at Chernobyl.

Kurzgesagt actually helped me see that it isn’t entirely hopeless in the battle for climate change. Certainly we have an uphill battle, but there is a trend of moving away from fossil fuels in the past two decades. More nuclear options and renewable sources of fuel do need to be implemented sooner rather than later, as well as moving away from single use plastics (or all plastic ideally).

Nuclear power when done correctly solves a LOT of problems.
However traditional energy lobbyist have spent a huge amount of time and money keeping it down.

We have had five years left for the past forty years.

Oh hey look! More false human predictions that have no concrete evidence to back it up. This is just as hilarious as the Y2K bullcrap back in 1999 where nukes were gonna go off on their own, technology would mysteriously come to a halt, and people would have to live in an apocalyptic world right when the year 2000 hit.

Climate Change is complicated:

There’s no better way to get people to not take you seriously than being in constant panic mode over vague threats.

If it was only 5 years I think the world would be more in an anarchic state of panic as that would be to far gone and mean the end of our species.

Climate change is real and we all should do our part to lessen it. But to think 5 years is all there is left is bunk, they said this back in like 1992 when I was in elementary and they sky was brown orange with smog. Now its 5 years with Blue skys and fresh air but Its always “5 years” away from doom. Now by all means dont be a knob head and like do your part, But if we want to actually make these changes, Id suggest maybe changing the text to Chinese. Or other languages for the other Nato countries besides the US that BS their climate data even while heavily under performing and unable to meet their promised requirements or straight cheating them. ((Cough Germany/VW Dieselgate Cough)) I also remember a time where seeing more then 100 yards in LA was impossible due to smog, I can now fly in and see from near san diego to santa monica and out to the high desert. Don’t believe everything you read on the browser default home pages.
