“Love and tolerate” has become nothing more than an annoying meme, wether used sincere or just as a joke, which also was the case here. I doubt the artist really meant it.

I’m not going to waste too much time on this, but I’d like to show you something:
 

 
The only change was in the coloring, replacing the godawful blue color with white, and coloring the collar and sleeve ends, which are already present, a separate color. And that’s just the shirt. If I really wanted to, I could recolor the skirt and the socks, which look very much like knee-socks that can sometimes come with the typical sailor uniform.

This is official artwork from Japan. If they can get away with puffy sleeves, I see no reason why nobody else can.
 
Don’t get me wrong. The artwork is undeniably hideous, but it has clear influences and the only real differences have to do with coloring. In fact, swap out much of the coloring for something a little more normal, and it wouldn’t look anywhere near as bad as it does.
