i used to think that Appledash was the most popular and im glad i was wrong

I was the original anonymous poster of >>2046696, and I’m really happy somebody took the initiative to update the chart and keep alive the research on the Wheel of Shipping.

Also, quite intrigued with the huge increase in most Rarity ships between 2019 and 2023.

I know the total shifted only marginally, but I’m talking it the older stuff was discounted entirely I think the balance would shift really hard.

It’s not because of that story’s popularity per se. It’s actually that author’s influence and popularity that gave people ideas.
Also, there is in fact a status for the more recent artwork. According to the chart bottom left, Rarilight did increase quite a bit, but not enough for dominance. And RD actually has a certain dynamic with all the mane six so I don’t see her dropping any time soon.
Yuo are right about Rarijack being more dominant, though! That ship has some good shipping fuel to the point it’s self-sufficient.

You can tell that skyrocket of Appledash was due to The Last Problem.

I’m curious how it would look if only more recent images were accounted. I feel like RD would drop off sharply and RariTwi would skyrocket (owing to Enchanted Library’s popularity), though I think RariJack would become even more dominant.

-Overall RD is the most shipped, but has a more even spread of counter-ships whereas Applejack dominates first and second for most done (albeit sharing the second with RD).

-Honorable mention to the main character who barely took fourth, lol.

-Over half of the Rarity ships are with Applejack, as is right and proper.
