Take, from The Fountainhead, Mr. Toohey, who’s only purpose for action is to enjoy banality and to keep people stupid and beholden to low class idiocy. His motivations are not realistic motivations. They don’t arise from an authentic case of himself being a hack or from societal pressure. No, they arise from some cabal’s hackneyed plot to keep people stupid and in the dark. That’s the kind of idiotic motivation that only exists in the basest and most hallow of stories.
 
It’s like writing a story about you and somehow making your motivation out to be making everyone as miserable as yourself because you are unwilling to see things from an alternate perspective.
 
Not only is it the most simple form or propaganda; it is likewise the easiest and least witty form of rebuke. It is the literary equivalent of making you enemy eat babies and shit on the floor because they are too small minded to respect toilets.

AJ is far too down-to-earth and realistic to ever embrace, let alone write, such drivel.

No, Rand wrote terrible, bad characters that existed in unreal worlds with the most unbelievable of antagonists. The look to Rand for philosophy is akin to looking at your own anus for a good food source.
