IRL horses have a very different eating habit compared to the human-style meals of the ponies in MLP. They more or less continually graze for about 12 hours each day.

This concept of “3 square meals a day” is very new and was almost never practiced anywhere in any time. It’s only possible thanks to modern technology, and I don’t know many people who follow this concept, most stick to 2 modest or small meals and 1 “main” meal (which was “dinner”, but historically up till 50 years ago or so, this dinner could take place at breakfast, lunch, or supper).

Restaurant menus are a good indication, with a tad of moderation since many will serve fairly large portions. But this is in expectation of being the largest meal of the day. Most people I know skip a meal if eating the main meal at a restaurant.

Ideally your typical dinner plate is sized specifically to be covered with whatever you’re eating. Same for bowls and saucer plates. So a bowl of cereal or side salad would have enough room to contain the portion without spilling while stabbing it with silverware.

Dinner plate “main course” spaghetti takes up the plate’s inner saucer. Meat, handful of veggies, and 2 handfuls of a starch is very Western typical. Sometimes served with an appetizer like a single piece of bread, a cup of soup, or a side salad. Cheeseburger or sandwich with 2-3 handfuls of fries or similar, those fries spread out quite a bit. Square of lasagna and piece of garlic bread.

Some people will eat very small amounts for certain meals and slightly more at others, like my roommate. My mother grazes on nuts, veggies, and fruits throughout the day and eats a large salad at work with no meat, bread, nor dressing. She only partakes in a typical main meal once every few days. My cousin works out while doing physical labor for work, and he has two dinners a day. All 3 are healthy-looking. I generally only eat 1, sometimes 2 meals a day, but my meals are relatively huge; I have to because that’s just how my body wants to operate. It’s painful for me to eat any other way.

Is garlic bread not usually an appetizer? So Opaline food is not very special. But about berries and … salad….

If Misty says she’s leaving for a while, and that when she comes back Opaline has to agree to some new ground rules and maybe take an anger management class or two or else Misty will leave for good, then yeah, they can talk.

I like the touches you did with Opaline’s food - the shadowberry is super obvious, but also giving her garlic bread, presumably in reference to her having garlic breath in Haunted House (and what’s even more interesting is that I remember reading something that said Pipp’s favorite food is garlic bread)
