Teens ARE adults, according to some cultures. Personally, I think it’s probably better to place that expectation on them than assume they’ll behave like boneheads.

Actually, their ages are never given, and nothing seems to of implied they’re teenagers. They also behave more like young 20-something adults, seeing how they work, don’t attend school, and such.
 
Aside from the EqG universe where the “Mane 6” are teens, but the ages in that universe are kinda inconsistent, and don’t necessarily reflect their pony counterparts. Seeing as some ages don’t match, like the CMC are also teens (described as “freshmen”) in that EqG universe. While the CMC’s pony counter parts are still children, and are never implied to be teens, nor freshmen.

Except they weren’t just “doing what children do” They were humiliating and destroying the reputations of innocent ponies with their gossip.

For the proper, mature, not-douchey way to respond to children doing what children do, see Applejack and Big Mac’s response in the same episode.

And then they get pneumonia. Their relatives don’t care, and doctors refused to help.  
And then AB and SB died from illness, Scoots get killed by manticore while trying to get cure in Everfree. The end.

The only mane 6 pony who never seems to get much hate is Fluttershy. :/ I’d say the one people love to hate the most is Rainbow, followed closely by Rarity. They all have their flaws but that’s what makes them realistic.

I suppose they kinda did, but it still wasn’t very nice, as they’re only children basically. At least Dashie made nice with them, when hey came to apologize though, so I don’t see any reason to hold it against her. (Plus, she is rather hot-headed compared to the other Mane 6.)
 
But yeah, I will admit some do exaggerate Dashie’s flaws, and the other ponies, as well, just so they can hate them.

Am I the only one who thinks they totally deserved it? They were writing horrible things about ponies and hurting their reputations. All Rainbow did was get them wet. It’s not like she actually hurt them or anything. It seems to me like some people just constantly look for reasons to hate her and completely ignore her good qualities. That’s not cool.

There’s also the fact that Rarity acknowledged how hypocritical she had been.

You know… taken out of context of the episode… this is quite mean and cruel of Rainbow Dash.
