I don’t think The sonic rainboom cutie mark connection thing was supposed to have anything to do with the elements of harmony.  
It is kid of hokey for them to be “connected before they even met” or however it was put.

^^I think both of you are crazy. I’m surprised they put in as much as they did; I don’t need a minute-by-minute account of Flight-School life, or the logistics of rock farming.

Yeah, they should have made it a two parter if at all. There’s just not enough time to fit 6 stories into 20 minutes plus all the filler. And, one thing I always liked about the Elements of Harmony was the idea that it could work with just about any group of six friends. Making it a special magical event that’s unique to the Mane 6 kinda ruins that.
