What we actually do is root for our favorite team and not give two shits what fans of others teams think about it. Perhaps you ought to start doing the same, rather than focusing your energy and petulant animosity towards the Yankees and their fans. You’d be healthier and better off.

Is that you, Dick Cheney?
And BTW I don’t care who Nelson Mandela was a fan of. Nelson Mandela wasn’t the guy everyone thinks he is. The man was a terrorist who had people murdered in the most horrific of ways (Google “necklacing” and see what this guy was fond of), and even after Apartheid fell was singing songs about murdering people.
Yeah, and we’re sick of hearing about your 27 rings. You guys act like everyone should love you because you’re successful. Why don’t you take those rings and just shove them?
Fans of all prestigious sports teams (including the Red Sox) tend to be arrogant.
“There’s arrogant Red Sox fans too, but they seem to gravitate towards the Yankees more.”
HA. That viewpoint is out of touch, quite frankly. The Red Sox fanbase is nothing like it was pre-2004. Anybody who’s been paying attention will tell you that the team’s recent stretch of success has transformed their fanbase from the group of diehards with chips on their shoulders that it once was, into a giant group of bandwagon douchebags (or in other words, how most people would describe the Yankees’ fan base). So this pic doesn’t work anywhere near as well as you think it does. If Applebloom were wearing, say, a Minnesota Twins uniform, THEN it would work.
Seeing as how a large majority of the Yankee fans (at least in the US) are arrogant pricks, it fits.
Granted there’s arrogant prick Red Sox fans too, but they seem to gravitate to the Yankees more.
True, but people also love an underdog. The Chicago Cubs haven’t won the pennant in about 70 years nor the World Series in over a century, and people still love the Cubs!
The reason it doesn’t work is because the notion that the Yankees are “the villains of baseball” is preposterous. They’re both the most quintessential and successful team in baseball history by far, and have played an enormous role in popularizing the sport outside of the US. There are Yankees fans all over the globe. Nelson Mandela was an avid Yankees fan.
…some people like Diamond Tiara too =3
