The End wasn't The End - Found a new home after the great exodus of 2012

@Ebalosus
True, it wasn’t at all flowers und shunshine here, but there are better films that are representative of the post war state of people living in Serbia.

“Wheels” or “Tockovi” - http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0189153/ (still haven’t figured out how to implement links in text) - in my opinion, is a better movie just because it paints a picture of how fucked up people can be and become without resorting to almost snuff levels of shock.

Now don’t get me wrong I ain’t a prune and I get it, its just that its a shame that an exploitation type film has to take center stage, when there are much better ones.
“Pretty Village, Pretty Flame”, “Cabaret Balkan”, “The Wounds” and “Do koske” (no official translation, would mean “To the Extreme”), all deal with the same post war problems and traumas that people had to deal with here and, again, in my oppinion, are just better, even some of them have the same actors from “The Serbian Film”. I highly recommend any of them, but especially “Pretty Village, Pretty Flame”.

My Serbian friends say that the film is a pretty accurate metaphor of how fucked up Serbia is…and I happen to agree with them, at least regarding the metaphor aspect of the film.

As for the film itself, I liked it. I consider it akin to Once Were Warriors, in that it shows a darker aspect of a country that its inhabitants need to address, be it post-war nihilism and exploitation, or the facade of Pakeha-Maori societal understanding and relations.

Makes me very sad that this movie is currently the main thing representing my country on the internets, Im gonna take my HappyMeal Applejack and make “ponies round the world” pics with her in Belgrade just so this won’t be the only Serbian thing on derpibooru
