Another request from JusSonic. This is my first time to draw characters with background in fan art.
Details: A mother and son moment. Whenever Ben’s down from the bullies or scared of something, Princess Celestia brought him to the sky for flying, sightseeing and have fun in the sky during their weekends. She wants him to be happy.

Well, Eragon got a huge scar on his back at the end of the first book that mirrored the scar that his friend Murtagh had. It was a very painful scar, and it sent him into fits of agony at times. But midway into the very next book he got it healed out of nowhere with no lasting repercussions whatsoever.
I liked the Eragon series, but it had some rather odd moments…
What happened in Eragon?
For instance, how did receiving that injury affect him as a person? Did getting injured so badly scare him, making him more cautious and less likely to take risks? Or did it remind him of how short life is, and cause him to become more outgoing and reckless?
If that injury didn’t develop his character somehow, and only acts as a minor physical handicap, then it can never be as significant as the writer wants it to be. Something similar happened in Eragon, come to think of it…
Like what?
**sigh ** That phrase doesn’t refer to literal scars, at least not strictly. It refers to all of the hardships (whether mental or physical) that a person has been through that have left a permanent mark on their lives. Sometimes that’s indicated by a physical scar, but the blemish itself is meaningless. What’s meaningful is how exactly the hardship affected their personality.
It’s way too simplistic and shortsighted to just slap a huge scar onto a character and then say that it defines them. There’s way more to it than that.

Well I can’t tell you those two things. However, I can tell you from the words of Solid-Sun and King Huffman:

KH: “Well…to answer your question, Solid Sun. He…may be an Earth Pony, and the son of Princess Celestia, but there are times when he doubts himself. He knows his limitations. He’s shy, he doesn’t like popularity…he’s very defensive about his family…he’s sympathetic to those who’ve been bullied before, he’s eager to prove himself worthy of Twilight’s lover.
But he’s not perfect. Sometimes he can be prone to anger and jealousy when he’s pushed. Every character has their flaws, even Ben. And right now…he still doesn’t even know who his own father is…yet in Jus’s MLP stories. He wants to learn more about his past, too.
However, it’s his loving devotion to Twilight and Nyx, and his loyalty to his friends that helps Ben become a better Prince.
Now you don’t have to believe me, Solid-Sun. That’s your right not to believe me or anybody. But Jus is still working on fleshing out the character of Ben Mare…and I for one say that he has a bit more…personality than Flash. No offense.
And as a result of his battle with Fafnir…it’s left him with a horrific scar on his chest that hasn’t truly healed yet, so it’s sort of slowed him down a bit. Some say that it’s a person’s scars that define a character.
Though that might not really be true.
I also forgot to mention…that Ben still suffers from social awkwardness and is still learning about what it means to have friends, but he also values brain over brawn…especially when it comes to Boris the Animal and his stooges.”

I know that. But what about Blueblood?
I’m guessing he’s talking about how fanon tends to base certain things on the behavior of real horses. For instance, there are several fanfics that portray polygamous relationships as being perfectly acceptable in Equestria, since horses are herding animals. Stuff like that.

…That seems like a rather pointless detail, if you ask me. If there’s no blood relation, then it isn’t incest. Cadance isn’t even a blood relative of Celestia.
Speaking of incest, in one of JusSonic’s stories “Curse of the Demon Pony”, when Fluttershy asked that since Ben was Princess Celstia’s adopted son, it would be weird since Celestia herself was Twilight’s aunt through Princess Cadance. I feel kind of uncomfortable about it. Not to sound like “The Blue Lagoon” book and movie. But hey, like JusSonic said, pony relationships are different from human relationships, and Ben is not Celestia’s real son, so it doesn’t matter!

Er… I really hope you’re joking, because homophobia isn’t gonna win you any sympathy around here. In fact, that sort of intolerance tends to be very much frowned upon.
The ones above; FlutterDash, RariJack and TwiPie.. NO WAY JOSE!!! I happen to be homophobic and those kind of pairings are unacceptable.
For Flash Sentry, at least JusSonic gave him a background and had him be portrayed as Ben Mare’s best friend.
Shining Armor. He’s simply the perfect guy for Twilight. What’s that? He’s her brother and he’s married? Details, details! ^_ ^
But leaving the incest option out of the equation… Twilight is honestly one of the few ponies that I have a hard time definitively shipping with anypony. Not because I don’t want her to be with somepony, but rather because I haven’t found a pairing that quite seems to resonate.
For example (speaking purely from my own personal opinion), FlutterDash seems natural. RariJack seems natural. But if we continue with that pattern and go with TwiPie… I dunno, TwiPie feels kinda Pair the Spares -ish for some reason. As for the three you mentioned:
Big Mac: I did actually see a fanfic once that gave him and Twi some very believable chemistry (it wasn’t a shipfic, ironically). But they’ve hardly spoken in-show, and I’m perfectly happy with Cheerimac. Pass.
Comet Tail: He’s a C-list background pony that (to my knowledge) nobody has really done anything with. Pass.
Flash Sentry:…No, just no. The writers of EqG fumbled terribly by introducing him as a possible love interest to Twi instead of introducing him as his own character, which is a HUGE no-no. As a result, he comes off as seeming really empty and fake, defined by his relationships to others and not by his own merits. Given how badly botched his introduction was, I doubt he’ll ever become truly likable. Pass, pass, pass!

I have no idea why he has the Triforce for a cutie mark. All I can say is that JusSonic has an odd imagination. Also, an Earth pony with powers is beyond my knowledge.

Let’s not forget that Ben Mare has a wolf cub named Koga for a pet, which is dangerous. Wolf cubs are NOT pets after all. They’re wild animals.

I guess avoiding all of those questions was even more important to him than not jumping out a window… such a shame…
