It’s probably taken in jest. I actually look at Spike as the “old friend” Twilight dumped for “new, better friends”. The show’s a bit mixed on this, but that’s the way it’s swinging towards as I see it. It’s like when you get into college.
A vast majority dump the friends from their old lives in high school/junior high and move on to the greener pastures. Spike strikes me as the guy trying to keep the link with Twilight alive, but is slowly becoming aware he’s being pushed to the back.
In this, though, Twilight is probably the master of the mixed message. One moment she says something and the next she’s dumping him like a hot rock over other friends - Rars, Apps and Dashie or even Pinkie.
Hey, don’t blame Spike for some poor, misguided fan’s view of his life.
Cry me a river!
Spike was never awesome.
I’d be surprised if they give Williams any more of his episodes. Especially since Powell is on the writing team now.
He’s pretty much always been one of my favorite characters, so I kind of like when he has good stories told about him.
Suddenly the writers aren’t sure what to do with you. Mediocre Merriwhether episode after episode makes fans cautious of episodes centered around you.
At least Corey did kinda good.
The only place left you’re awesome in are the comics which the unwashed mindless masses in the fandom don’t even read.
Being Spike is suffering.
