Well, compared to Tarrlok, Unalaq was a bit more subtle (if only in comparison). Plus, this is a sort of thing that characters in-universe don’t have the advantage of being objective third-party observers like we are as viewers. How many times in real life do we ourselves not realize something that’s actually right in front of us?

And again, I’d give it about until Book Four to see where Korra’s character goes. That was the beauty with Zuko’s development from Book 1 to the last half of Book 3.

Yeah, except she hasn’t learned right away that Tarlok– I mean, Unalaq is not trustworthy. Come on, he orders the occupation of the South with the Northern army, basically setting up a civil war, had her father, his own brother, arrested, and she still had to interrogate a bribed judge (okay, I will admit that scene was awesome though) in order to figure out that he’s evil.

You mean like how one would compare Korra’s fight against the Southern kidnappers with her Book One confrontation with the Triple Threats. To quote the Fridge page for the show on Tv Tropes:

“Both involve Korra interrupting a criminal act being carried out by several adult men. Both involve brief, spectacular takedowns, and both culminate in Korra making their getaway vehicle crash. However, whereas Book One Korra is eager for a fight, relies a great deal on brute force and causes copious property damage, her older self attempts to resolve the situation nonviolently, makes brilliant use of her environment and Lightning Bruiser skills (even displaying Equalist-style Airplane Arms while running), and only tears down a single banner in the process. Korra may still be somewhat Hot Blooded and reckless, but it is clear that she has learned from her experiences.”

And even then, she has three more books of development to go through.

A main character that not a great person? Oh no! How dare she not be a great person (not so much a character) like Aang?

@CoyoteCrow4

It took Zuko to fully develop into a better person over the course of 2 and a half books of A:TLA. I can see the same with Korra and really, that’s what real life is about. You’re not going to fully change as a person instantly and it’s a gradual process. Trust me, I know…

I’m guessing you haven’t seen the latest episode. In that, yeah she’s bullheaded as she’s always been, but at least she’s starting to care for her dad. Three episodes prior to this, Korra couldn’t even look at her dad straight in the eye after finding out he lied to her.

Sometimes I just want to punch her in the face… She never seems to learn!!

I do want to see where Tenzin’s family goes though. Also, Dat Bolin/Eska(Desna? …no idea) sideplot XD
