Sunset’s critics? Up until RR I was one of them. But I’ve come around.
Yep, after having seen RR I’m even more inclined to support it than I was a year ago when I first made that comment. The problem with Garrett’s comic is that it doesn’t include a reaction from Sunset that basically says “I never wanted to kill anyone!” A lot of Sunset’s critics never seemed to notice that part of her character.
Her comment about it in “Rainbow Rocks” (the “raging she-demon” line) seems to support this interpretation. Even once she’s had time for the shock to wear off, she looks back on it with a sense of “Why the hell did I do that?”

Nope. Much like with Luna’s reversion to her old self, Sunset didn’t need much persuasion to know she had done wrong. I think she was frightened by the severity of what she tried to do after transforming, and I find that interesting. This is too drawn out and wordy for that moment.
