it also indicates again why the whole ordeal Twilight and her friends had to do had to come about at all if that fight hadn’t happen Celestia wouldn’t have had to FORCE the elements to banish her sister its like that song Lullaby for a Princess. One of the lines even says “the harmonies silent today” originally the Elements were divided between the two of them three for Celestia and three for Luna,but that all changed that night so because she was forced to use the elements in that fashion she broke them which meant for a thousand years the Trees main source of power was gone and cause of it it kept getting weaker. Which may also explain why Discord became free to begin with cause his statue state is only cause of the Elements and with the tree badly weakened at that point plus the elements only JUST surfacing after so long his release was all but eminent

I can understand how for Celestia, what she was about to do to her own little sister would haunt her for centuries afterwards.
 
The tears she cries from the guilt of what she is about to do say it all:  
“Forgive me, Luna…but you’ve left me no other option!!”

She kind of does so with the Tree of Harmony. Twilight is very good at picking up on magic techniques, even after seeing them just once.

More than likely Twilight can also use the Elements in this way.

That was my favorite part of the whole premiere (Everything with Discord was a close second). If they make another movie, I seriously hope it’s of this.
