Good. I was worried all this shark-jumping would make the show lose it’s quality.
Of course.
You mean MLP?
Now it’s been 5 years. The show has had so many so-called “shark-jumping” moments I’ve lost count.
I agree, Power Ponies was fun. Rarity Takes Manehattan gave us two new songs (technically one, but who’s counting) and Coco Pommel, so even if I didn’t like it I couldn’t hate it.
Hell, they don’t even get the simple stuff right on the adult shows.
It’s a kids show, but kids learn. More than we imagine. Better to teach them the right things… Maybe a little about running a farm, if it’s the case.
You can stretch reality a bit for your story, but this is completely overturning the sense of it. I mean, sacrifying part of your land to pests is stupid, period.
And even morally, it’s like saying “don’t fight them, give them what they want and maybe you’ll be rewarded”. What?!
I think you’re thinking a bit too deeply about it. Of course it’s not realistic, It’s a kids show. Even shows with an audience of adults don’t get their science right most of the time.
From The Perry Bible Fellowship(Awesome webcomic, a real milestone)
The “green” moral thing, indeed.
There was simply no reason to give up on Fluttershy’s position. Farmers all around the world, since the beginning of human history, have always struggled to keep the pests off their crops. That’s what made them survive.
So what AJ should do? Making a “shrine” for vampires, so they won’t come to the other part of the orchard? With no proof that they’ll stay there? Excuse me?!?
It’s not like the Apple family is so well being that can afford to donate part of their land to every pest that comes to the Acres. First the beavers, then the fruit bats, and this time the vampires; next time, what else? Cereal rats and carrot moles?
Yeah, (I forgot about that ep’) it wasn’t bad either, “Flutterbat” was also quite popular. :P
How was the finale “forced” though? Are you talking about how quickly they solved the “problems,” the green moral, or the li’l “cliffhanger” gag. (Which I think is just a joke personally, I don’t think we’re going to see more “Flutterbat.”)
Bats! was quite enjoyable… Except for the forced finale, of course.
I’m cool with a new season of Pone personally. :)
@ETech
Seeing how it’s now after it aired, “Power Ponies” was better then I thought, and everyone seems to love their “superhero” outfits/powers, and the amusing, hammy, insane, comic-book-ish villain featured in the episode.
The “Rarity Takes Manehatton” ep’ was quite good to, and kinda felt like a Season 1, or 2 episode to me. (Dat Rarity singing voice.)
So there’s no doubt in my mind they can still make good episodes.
Let the neeeeeigh-sayers complain. ;)
Power Ponies, to me, looks like it’s going to be either really dumb or really awesome with no middle ground. But who can say for sure.
Yeah, amazingly… There was almost no backlash over Luna’s new hair style, and “canon personality.” (In fact, she kinda turned out similar to how I imagined her. Kind-hearted like her sister, but a bit darker, has a temper, yet has a vulnerable side to.)
“Luna Eclipsed” actually made me adore Luna.
I actually like Mysterious Mare-Do-Well. I thought Rainbow Dash was perfect in that episode. {Likable, funny, I could actually get attached to her, etc.} Yeah, her friends were OOC but the focus was on Dash, so I liked it overall.
And I agree with you. There isn’t an episode I hate. Just some parts of some episodes I didn’t like, or found some episodes just ‘meh’ with nothing really to love or hate about them.
To be honest, I don’t really hate any episode of the show, or think any were “horrible” so far. (Which is surprisingly more then I can say for other shows. Other shows I like have episodes I disliked so much, I can’t even sit through them a second time.)
Even the episodes I found more “mediocre,” I still enjoyed regardless. (Am I the only one in this thread who feels that way?)
I don’t blindly love the show, or everything about it. (Like some assume of you, if you don’t hate things about it.) Heck, I doubts about some episodes to, (like I wasn’t keen on Discord being “reformed” at first) but still enjoyed when I saw them.
I just haven’t seen a pony episode I hate passionately yet, and I wasn’t bothered by “Mare Do-Well,” nor the controversial things that the show went through in the past year.
So I can’t really complain personally honestly.
