My Little Pony - 1992 Edition

So, how long before Twilight chops out a piece of his brain to see how this bizarre creature reasons, if in fact he does? (Hey, they did it in the original PotA movie.)

People who live in glass houses shouldn’t throw stones.

As for your proposal, a cosmological paradigm in which cause and effect are consolidated into a handful of orderly and predictable forces is at least plausible. However, I would find it difficult to accept the existence of such agents if they did not in some way promote the underlying stability of the fabric of reality in demonstrable ways.

A better argument, if one must be overly pedantic, maybe that the rule of drama/comedy actually exists as metaphysical forces in the magical land of ponies. If something is funny psychical laws are ignored to allow it, but when the situation is ‘serious’ they’re in full effect and the peril is very real. This is also why for instance Pinkie suddenly can’t off-screen teleport when trapped in a dungeon/dangerous situation/whenever it would be really useful during a ‘serious’ plot line.

After all if it really did take some supersonic impact or such nonsense to actually injury a pony why would we have all these scenes of them seemingly being afraid to fall even a few dozens meters, knocked silly or even out by minor impacts, trying to avoid fire/dangerous magic, etc?

It might actually be funny to have these forces be antagonistic to each other and fighting for control leading to all the “inconsistency” we see based on whose ‘winning’ at the moment.

Beg pardon, I thought you were utilizing the ever popular “Straw Man” logical fallacy. I will admit that, on closer inspection, my second claim is untenable. My word choice to describe Rainbow Dash was made in haste. Oaf is the more accurate noun.

However I still maintain that in the Ponyverse, one can overcome obstacles directly by force of will alone. To wit, Rainbow Dash could have mended her broken wings in an instant if she desired it strongly enough (boredom was evidently not a strong enough impetus).

Sorry, I thought your position was that “Dash is a wimp” because she suffered a broken bone while Twilight didn’t.

My counter was that Rainbow Dash encountered a much more massive amount of force (a near super-sonic crash VS an anvil and piano landing on the head), so her not walking off her injury as easily as Twilight should be expected, even with a very strong pony.

Your other point that magic pony skeletons can’t be standard bone wasn’t being addressed. I didn’t see anything in that specific concept that needed discussion (as the evidence you provided pretty much confirms it). Again, sorry if that wasn’t clear.

Your reference supports my supposition sir/madam. Can you name a creature possessing an endoskeleton made out of bone that would suffer only minor injuries after being subjected to such an astronomical amount of physical trauma? I don’t think that you can. Thus it follows that ponies do not have skeletons made out bone.

As for the pony in the full body cast, I would hazard a guess and say that he was spelunking in a large sinkhole and suffered a catastrophic failure with his climbing gear. :(

Oh, I dunno, when a pony traveling at near super-sonic speeds faceplants on the ground, maybe that’s what it takes to cause broken bones (quite a lot).

Which leads to a question: just WHAT did that poor pony in the bed next to her manage to do, to be in a body cast?

I’ll let in you in on a little secret Taylor. Snapping the neck won’t work. full
The skeletal system of a pony is made out of an incredibly pliable rubber-like substance.

I wish to express surprise that there were 21 “Planet of the Apes” crossovers before this one (according to the tag system).

Thank you.
