Maybe pony is big enough of a thing now that Blu-rays would be more viable. And we’re further along in technology and with every passing month, DVD becomes less and less of a thing.
…also with only stereo English audio, madskillz-style localized video and some purple shade on the video. That’s just sucks.
With uncorrected 4% PAL speedup.
In Germany.
I think they probably have the money to make it but I don’t know if they’ve been convinced it’s profitable enough yet.
Oh, and I would not be surprised if Shout! Factory tried a Kickstarter approach, since that tends to run well with bronies and guarantees at least initial investment from diehard fans.
As I’ve already said in another thread, I believe we are close to or already at the point where a Blu-ray release is warranted. Should it happen, it’ll probably be a deluxe boxset release targeted to bronies and hardcore fans who would care more about this. Shout! Factory (the DVD and EqG Blu-ray distributor) is likely waiting for the current boxsets and the character-themed DVDs to run their course until they even consider such a step, so I would pin it at next year, maybe late this year if we’re lucky.
BTW, there is a German Blu-ray S1 set, with sublime picture quality, but it has uncorrected PAL speedup!!!
Too bad motherfucker!
ACTIVATE THE DOCTOR WHO THREAD!
I think it started making DVDs because those were cheaper. I think a lot of it is because MLP:FIM is still in uncharted waters, where a lot of other properties have an established fanbase.
I support buying the DVDs for now (all three seasons) to prove there is a market for them. I’m hoping that we’ll eventually get a Blu-ray set in North America.
no, no , Celestia fobid! I just ment that one meme, not a whole spiderthread
Somebody say… Spiderman thread?
WELL TOO BAD HAVE A DOCTOR WHO THREAD!
Uh-huh, and Transformers Prime was released on Blu-Ray after season one.
You’re complaining about bluray and I’m just sitting here waiting for a UK release of series ONE of MLP:FIM
MLP:FiM definitely would be selling better than a lot of movies.
