Nobody else drew it that I know of, so why didn’t I? was I just messing around?

On subject of this image, Maud’s clothing does fit in pretty well with what Ian often wore at concerts. That and her facial expressions (for most of the time) fit in.

Could Joy Division stand for more Pony art? Not only them but other bands such as the Minutemen and XTC? (I haven’t seen any crossovers of those bands yet outside of my mind.)

Sadly no. For the ‘In a Lonely Place’ song, there’s two versions that were on a vinyl disc and another one in the Heart and Soul box set. I think the same applies to the Ceramony demo.

Neither do I. I only was able to download those two albums online and compile my own sort of ‘greatest hits’ involving the old rehearsal of ‘In a Lonely Place’ and the ‘Ceremony’ demo.

… One last thing before I head off to rest.

I haven’t listened to the album “Closer” in full yet but the cover is of a guy by a shrine (so to speak) for a corpse. (“Need input, Stephanie.”) Reminds me of Alexander The Great.

I’ll just say this:

Any time I was being a jerk I ended up getting exactly that back to me and sometimes the punishment was while I was sleeping, dreaming. (However, Doing good things makes good things happen in the same way.)

I did hear that Ian had stolen prescription drugs from a retirement home. Was he trying to harm people through Joy Division songs but instead just ended up killing himself through it? He hung himself the night before the band’s tour in America was to start. I was avoiding saying he did do that but then I had that dream which said yes he killed himself.

What can be said of someone who does suicide? It’s not as if I’m saying “revenge upon them” because there’s no point in that, it would harm me to think that way even if they’re already dead. But I can’t suggest to anyone like that who killed his/her self to turn around and live, can I? (Though talking to anyone who is suicidal but hasn’t killed him/her self can be done.)

As the Bible says in the book of Proverbs, He who digs a pit shall fall in it and he who rolls a stone shall have it roll back on him. And those who lurk in wait to harm others in hopes to steal in order to gain fortune, they lay a net for their own blood. There’s good stuff in that book, but watch for the proper interpretation.

As for a lyric Ian sang, Here’s Transmission.

“Radio live transmission.
Listen to the silence, let it ring on.
Eyes, dark grey lenses frightened of the sun.
We would have a fine time living in the night left to blind destruction waiting for our sight.”

In this case did he mean a possibility or past tense? Or did I miss punctuation? When listening to it in my own interpretation I’d think past tense. What was he doing with the lyric? If he was trying to cause people to be harmed he did one hell of a job on himself. Him and everyone else who did that.

You know what else? I heard that if he was in the sun long enough his hands would literally swell up red. And the Vox Phantom guitar he played looks like a coffin, And it’s called a Vox Phantom.

Given all these thoughts (and if Ian was trying to hurt people,) I’m thinking that Maud Pie (although she may appear as if she resembles Ian Curtis on an outside level) just doesn’t fit in; Maud (cartoon character, remember) actually cares about Pinkie, But for Ian what’s the story?

I read an account of someone who said he saw Ian the day before Ian died and that Ian was bothered/troubled about something and the man who gave the account said “Ian seemed like he wanted to talk about something but I didn’t have time for him.”

And before I close this comment, I’m leaving the door open for true answers here.

I’d recommend watching Control, it paints Ian Curtis, as the TV Tropes call it, a Jerkass Woobie. Hmmm…it sounds like representation of what could be hidden underneath…

That’s what I at least can interpret since on how Ian’s love life was, struggling with Debra and contemplating whether he loved her, and his relationship with Annik (who by the way, recently passed away). And Oh gosh..I haven’t read Background Pony, but I’ve heard of it, and honestly, I didn’t wanna give it a read since I know I was gonna cry on how bad it gets for Lyra..

damn typos…

I didn’t see “24 Hour Party People” or “Closer” (the movie, not the album) yet. As for dreams like that, I have them. I had another dream like it in 2013 before I knew Joy Division much; In it there were people all wearing a (rather putrid zombie-green) mask which was the same for all who wore it and it didn’t care. So does this mean that they really do care underneath the mask or does it pervade into them?

I’m not yet sure about “Love Will Tear Us Apart” as far as Annik goes though I can dream of what happened ;Somehow I’m able to learn something by asking what happened before falling asleep, then seeing it in a dream which is how I dreamed about that lengthy dream of Ian Curtis. I have some sort of connection with the song “Love Will Tear Us Apart” interpreting it in the light way.

“Love Will Tear Us Apart” was in the movie “Donnie Darko.” I also associate the fanfic Background Pony with it but I don’t associate any % of it with sexual activity. (In it, Lyra feels very cold at times.)

Complications? You mean Compilations?

“She’s Lost Control” is a JD song which sounds like he was singing epilepsy;

“… kicking on the side, she said “I’ve lost control again.”

(also similarly related; are you familiar with the band XTC? Also from Britain and they toured at the same time JD did.)

The film gave an idea of that, as seen several times where he’d perform and dance erratically. And Yikes….pretty creepy dream man…Did you ever find out why you had that dream? I can’t be so sure what he really hid, all I know is that he was a pretty gloomy man with an illness unknown during the time.

I think Love Will Tear Us apart was a bit of her and of the woman he had the ‘quote/unquote’ affair of. I can’t be so sure whether it was an affair, as the woman, Annik (who was a reporter), stated in interviews that her relatonship with Ian was platonic, rather than loving.

I really want to own a copy of any Joy Division CDs, but not the complications. I do remember at a CD store far from my house they had the Heart and Soul box set.

I do (and did) know he was epileptic. I’m not very familiar with it except that he’d just fall over and have a seizure.

However, I had a dream in which I saw a mask of Ian and it was in a box bought from a store. The mask was like rotten flesh. So the question I have is, was he lying about something in the Joy Division performances (something which really wasn’t him) that ended up being sold? It’s not the only dream I’ve had of him, either. I do know I had a rather lengthy dream about him but it’s not particularly in conscious mind now.

I think “Love Will Tear Us Apart” is (from his perspective at the time) about him feeling inadequate to his wife sexually but I often interpret it in another way while listening to it, that any time something’s wrong WHAM - Love itself will shine, breaking darkest wrong. It’s what I’ve set up as an interpretation.

“Dancing us from darkest night is the rhythm of love powered on the beating of hearts.” - XTC song “Beating of Hearts.”

I just bought the Joy Division BBC Recordings CD yesterday (on 2/August/2014 for the record books on Derpibooru) though I didn’t listen to all of it yet before writing this.

Oddly, I could see Maud as Ian, but so much. I sometimes tell people I could see Rainbow Dash as Ian Curtis though. I don’t say Fluttershy since most people always put her in the sensitive category. Ian’s performances were always rather..uncomfortable to watch. If you don’t know Joy Division, it looks hilarious…but when you do learn about then, it becomes rather disturbing when you realize the guy had epilepsy.

Many people, even his band mates said that while he was a pretty nice guy (except his wife Debra was rather saddened at the fact he wasn’t there for her and basically had a quote/unquote affair), but he was very depressed, lonely, was suffering a loss of creative identity (due to the feeling most people wanted to see his shows for his seizure dances), and especially because he suffered from epilepsy, which at the time wasn’t really treatable.

Colony is pretty heartbreaking to hear, but I think The Eternal is pretty depressing, next to the rehearsal version of ‘Ceremony’.

I can see somewhat of a resemblance but Maud Pie fit in together quite the same.

Yes there’s that part where Maud is rather slow and then ASDFWHAT THE ROCK POWDER WHAT… And this with Ian, Just standing there as vocalist than WHAT…

Sigh. Here I am sitting listening to the Joy Division song “Colony” while I type this. What happened to Ian, was he lead so far astray from life? It sounds like Ian was lonely.

(He ended up hanging himself…)
