I love the Helmet of Neigh-bu in the background. The fact that Starswirl was comforting Celestia as a friend/mentor-figure does cause a bit of confusion in regards to her statement of him not understanding friendship.

Star Swirl: (about the mirror) Aren’t you curious to find out what else is out there in the cosmos?
Celestia: With Luna being so distant lately, I’ve got so much to do… I doubt I’ll have time to help you with what you’re proposing.
Star Swirl: Now Celestia, I know you’ve been concerned since your sister started to act a bit… dark. I’m sure we’ll get her turned around before anything serious happens.

It is because I have my own ideas that I hold firm to and since our argument was of a “political” nature (the worse kind) it is very unlikely that you or I could truly understand each other views in a online comment section. Whatever you define as understanding, may it be complete agreement or a acceptance of that’s arguments plausibility while still retaining your own I do not know but whatever the deep context of our argument of which I have admittedly long forgotten I have little interest in bringing it up again and I hope that you can find a another way to express you ideology in a more appropriate setting.

It all to their own perspective, you make the world how you see and I make the world how I see, sometimes we both fall sync into the realm of reality but many times our pride and ideas hold us to victimize ourselves and blame others and in the end always assume that no matter the outcome of a old argument,we cement ourselves in our mind as the winners.A little human philosophy if you will.

Perhaps we are both incapable of accepting the other points and with the initial argument so far out of bounds, the rational thing to do is to simply accept the other beliefs and bid them good day on their journey through life.

Yes you are.By what standards are they going too far? You don’t understand their MAGICAL HORSE society and their veneration as you call it is relative to the viewer.(

Of course their not invincible or infallible, nobodies saying that and the shows gives plenty of evidence of it(Luna’s jealousy, Celstias defeat to chrysalis,) that, are you saying that this makes them a bad leader or that they don’t deserve their peoples respect because of that? Everyone has their faults. What else can be said about that.

Remember when the mane six all questioned and disagreed with Celesta when she asked them to reform Discord, and other than that, what other times would they need to question celestas order ? The Crystal Empire was a test in which Twilight was supposed to defy Celestias order if she needed to, and the rest of the time I’m sure the ponies just assumed that their super powerful leader with centuries of experiences knows what she’s doing and has their best interest in mind when faving a crisis. Its a autocratic government yeah what else do you want me to say?

And when the princesses got kidnapped well, you don’t know that their wasn’t some other official actually running the government and those military officers were just informing Twilight of her successional duties in the sudden crisis, you don’t know if it was falling to pieces we didn’t see much other then the near assured confusion about the sky and them pointing out that twilight is a princess and has some ranking now . (If your going to assume it all fell to pieces then I can assume their was another official to manage the country)

So from what I’ve(im not claiming everything I say is a fact!) been getting from your grievances is that the government of a kids show isn’t one that I feel is efficient ( name a kids show that had a detailed ,perfect government in that we could be assured was absolutely deserving of it power) be and all those cartoon ponies are being horribly oppressed and Celestia(a character written by multiple writers and given a minimum backstory) is a cruel monarch forcing her people to be slaves by letting them bow in her apparent radiating presence and calling them her “subjects”….

Personal judgments? Everything I’ve talked about is a direct look at the show itself, not something I’m reading into it with my own ideas.

It’s a FACT that Twilight and many other ponies go too far in veneration of the princesses. It’s a fact that they’re not invincible or infallible. It’s a fact that no one ever questions the orders of the princesses, in essence revealing the autocratic nature of their system. It’s a fact that things started falling to pieces when Discord’s plant kidnapped the princesses. I have more than enough to base my criticisms on already.

We need a an idea of what their government is before anyone can claim it is wrong, we don’t know that she don’t got a council helping her,Bluebloods apparently a noble of sorts and we know how this show loves to hide things only to suddenly revel their existence so for we know their reign isn’t nearly as absolute as you think. We cant claim their aren’t eternal,(luna showed us she can apparently see the future, whether a construct of her assumptions or actual visuals into the yet to happen is interpretable) and since we seen so little of their actual power (thought we can assume it is a factor of their reign, note her ponies dread their made version of her disappointment not her actual magical powers so there that)their capabilities are up to debate, though apparently she is the most efficient at controlling the sun and moon.

Also I don’t see what veneration of mortals your talking about(unless your talking about their own stress accommodating the nations leader to their town or dareing to call them her subjects in which case really?).So unless we have a solid idea of Government to analyze, we cant complain about the abuse of a magical kingdom ruled by magical horse who have been united by a leader that represents them all magically in a society that is herd based(more males than females, one or two sometimes, four dominant mares lead herd) in a world that is apparently extremely dangerous and in which ponies have to literally worry about being eaten by magical predators. So my point is someone’s going to need better defined grievances to critique on this alien society rather than personal judgments.

For one thing, you’re going on about our political systems in this world, when I never made even the slightest allusion to them myself. I’m not foisting up some more familiar style of government that is summarily “better”, I’m pointing out what’s wrong with theirs.

Celestia and Luna are not eternal, nor are they infallible. It’s a potentially devastating mistake to treat them as either, without a governing council or anything else which might have a say above the absolute word of the princesses. Remember the example I gave regarding PTS.

And again, the overblown veneration of mortals like them is nauseating.

Well If your expecting a perfect rule for a ruler, their bound to fail to meet your expectations and last time I checked a democracy can be just as corrupt and mismanaged as any tyrannical monarchy especially if they manipulate the system to ensure their control (probably while talking about protecting our freedoms and with a bunch of distraction in society)And if your talking about emplacing some council of ponies who control an object(mind you it can only be unicorns, so expect some discrimination toward the other races)that’s supposed to the same standard thing (cycling in the sky) i’d rather have some ever present, powerful yet benevolent leader who is acknowledged as the most appropriate to the eternal task in which they specialize in and one mistake could presumably destroy all life.

After all democracies with no direction other then to “exist happily” eventually devolve into petty popularity contest with the current rulers using all sorts of dirty tricks to preserve their position( I imagine we could kiss goodbye to Equestria’s unity of the three races when it all about who’s group can put their people in government),that or they become farce “peoples republics” ruled by “presidents for life”. The idealization of any ideology(especially since they never quote reach their goals don’t they?) is a poor judgment and if the worst the ponies have to fear is a little stress(made up by themselves after all) then I don’t exactly see the problem that implies a whole new from of government.
