You’re both looking at the wrong thing. Here, I made a graphic.
…now I see it. It’s there, but not really that apparent and doesn’t jump out at me.
It is just the usual “light reflection” effect they use in cartoons.
The white of her eye, the blue of her iris, and the larger oval of reflected light seem like they form an eye.
