I’m convinced that the lyrics are gibberish. But if they keep making songs like “Once in a Lifetime,” they can do a whole album just singing the phone book for all I care.

You’re just about right, Sad Pony. They’re more of a power metal band than a speed metal band. The difference is more in tone and attitude than anything else really.  
And it’s always good when a band can open your eyes to new genres of music that help broaden your musical experience. In that respect, Dragonforce is a good gateway band to explore the different (and perhaps better) splinters of the metal genre.

I’m not that much of a music junkie, but aren’t they classified more along the lines of speed metal?
 
Also, as sad as it may seem, Dragonforce dispelled the notions I had about metal before: that it’s all dark and growly. Since finding them, I’ve branched out to others, like Power Quest and Masterplan, and I’ve grown to like the metal genre. Probably not the best metal band, but one that has a place in my heart.
