I never think in absolute ages, because we simply do not know how old the characters are. All we have is Faust’s statement that Spike supposedly had the maturity of an eight-year-old boy. We know that at least one year has passed in the show since the pilot and Spike currently acts like a child who is either nine or ten. People who think he’s more mature than that underestimate how smart and independent a child that age can be, especially when given a lot of responsibilities. He is clearly prepubescent.
In this picture Spike is supposed to have a mental age of three. How much time has actually passed since then is uncertain, because we know so little about dragon and pony aging alike. But if I were to make a guess, I’d say Twilight was older than the CMC when she got full custody of Spike, but younger than Cadence in the Canterlot Wedding flashbacks.
@QueenCold
So, umm… just out of curiosity, what age would this be, in your opinions? If we see Spike as about twelve or so, does this make him three or four in the image? What percentage of his life has he spent living with Twilight? More or less than 50%?
Same here.
Also, thanks for the compliment!
The timing could have been better. Then again, a computer never breaks at the right time. I’m just glad to have made something again. I don’t plan on quitting any time soon, I’ve just been very busy lately.
It’s really good and really… “rich?” in color. I’m glad you’re still making art. Sorry about your computer.
This is still MSPaint.
I also lost Photoshop since my computer crashed, so I have to do everything I can’t do in Paint in Gimp now. In this case that was removing the background and adding the gradient to the eyes.
