@WM-R
the stare stopped dragons. The ONLY being the stare HASN’T been able to stop in their tracks is discord, a creature of pure chaos magic
to be fair, we CAN’T SAY FOR SURE how it would affect ravage
@Scrounge
we all have good reasons to prefer G1 over prime or beast wars
but YOU have equally good reasons to prefer beast wars over G1
It’s called PREFERENCE
@nerfherder
We’ll agree to disagree on what might constitute a good reason, especially in terms of those who consider it superior to Beast Wars, Animated, and/or Prime.
@nerfherder
I don’t think Laserbeak is really well-known for things other than being a flying camera and living in Soundwave’s chest, but it’s a moot point since you’re right about the stare.
@nerfherder
The way I see it, this is emblematic of Fluttershy’s connection to nature. You corner even the most timid of animals, and it will generally do its damnedest to externalize your internal organs rather than give in and go quietly. And so it is with Fluttershy: She’s usually meek and timid, but once that switch gets flipped, it’s a new Mother Nature taking over.
@WM-R
fluttershy has a LOT of untapped power within her once she gets over her fears.
she was able to keep up with RAINBOW DASH in return of harmony
and in the episode with iron will, she was able to EFFORTLESSLY flip over two giant wagons full of garbage. That’s something not even applejack could do
@WM-R
I’ve heard that Armada gets closer to adequate near the end. I watched some of it and I kinda liked Wheeljack.
Besides, if I torture myself that means nobody else has to do it for me. And I get to decide when I’m done and I can detox with Animated or Rescue Bots after.
@WM-R
It’s not just the well-written ones, I enjoyed RiD and Cybertron fine too (though I gave up on Armada and Energon, and I dread trying to force myself through those at some point).
As for the flanging? I could take it or leave it, really… Sometimes it can make it harder to understand what someone’s saying.
Well, it’s what you get when you go back to a 20-plus year old cartoon made to sell toys after getting used to well-written cartoons made to sell toys.
Kinda miss the old robotic ring to their voices, though. I thought Prime might’ve been even better with them.
@WM-R
Yeah, but I get the feeling the artist was basing this off the G1 cartoon, where they’re basically just attack animals that Soundwave keeps in his chest.
Not saying I’m a huge fan of the stare either (though I am a fan of Fluttershy), just saying… Okay I’ve lost track of what I’m saying, actually.
I forgot to mention the last thing that irritated me about this comic. Ravage and Lazerbeak aren’t pets or mindless animals (at least, not in modern comics and the toyline). They’re full-fledged veterans. If they can stare down the likes of Dinobots and combiners shooting at them, then the stare shouldn’t do squat.
I know it’s supposed to be a joke or something, but I really, really don’t like Fluttershy’s stare.
@WM-R
I’ve seen ones where she kills Celestia. That doesn’t seem right to me. So yeah, compared to that, the weirdness with the stare is a lot easier to brush off as a joke.
In Pinkie the Serial Killer’s case (not one of my favourites either) at least she’s going after other ponies who are within her limits.
A picture of Pinkie with a bloodied knife standing over Rainbow Dash is nowhere near as rant-inducing to me as Pinkie with a bloodied knife standing over, say, Son Goku or Optimus Prime.
In my case, I just dislike the whole ‘Fluttershy’s stare is unbeatable’ thing. I can understand a dragon, sure. Cockatrice? Okay, why not? Those are all animals native to Equestria.
But then you’ve got her intimidating alien monsters (e.g. Ultraman and his enemies), soulless, fearless killing machines (Godzilla and his like) and robotic warriors who’ve been in a horrific war for millions of years (Ravage and Laserbeak above).
Also, I have to admit Fluttershy is my least favourite of the Mane Seven.

Lazerbeak, sure. Ravage, never.

the stare is incredibly powerful
and you forget, in the tv show AND his bios, laserbeak is INFAMOUS for being a complete COWARD
most people LOVE the g1 cartoon and for good reason
but to each their own

I wouldn’t bother with Armada and Energon, myself. It’s just self-inflicted torture.
It’s not just the well-written ones, I enjoyed RiD and Cybertron fine too (though I gave up on Armada and Energon, and I dread trying to force myself through those at some point).

The G1 cartoon drives me nuts. I’m trying on and off to slog through it, but let’s just say it’s no Beast Wars.
Yeah, I suspect the artist based them on the G1 cartoon too, but like I said, the stare just drives me nuts.
I think I lost my train of thought too. Hahah. Let’s just call it quits.

Still gross, though.
Maybe they think she’s charging up her eye lasers. I dunno.
But really is it any worse than, say, for example, the whole Pinkie the Seria Killer thing?
In my case, I just dislike the whole ‘Fluttershy’s stare is unbeatable’ thing. I can understand a dragon, sure. Cockatrice? Okay, why not? Those are all animals native to Equestria.

@WM-R
I suspect you might be taking this too seriously.
True
Yeah. That kind of pisses me off. You’re telling me that some little fleshbag scares them more than whatever hell they’ve lived through?
Plus, while Laserbeak has a reputation as a coward, Ravage is one of the most fearless Decepticons ever, not to mention the most loyal.
At least the artist didn’t opt to treat Buzzsaw that way.
