My mind sort of homed into the pterasaurs because of a discussion I had a few days back in which the subject was if pterosaurs were flying dinosaurs.

There totally are flying dinosaurs. They are called birds.
The scientific classification from parent clade to subclades is Dinosauria, Therapoda, Chuniaoae, Paraves/Eumaniraptora, Avialae, Aves (bird).
