It goes on the style of Romeo and Juliet. They feel in love at first sight, that being said, there isn’t much else to go off of other than we missed romantic dinners or long walks haha. But I agree, wish we could’ve seem more. Maybe we might in Future issues

But we didn’t really get to see it develop. And his complaint is that we didn’t really get to see the relationship emerge. Not that it didn’t emerge at all, but that we the audience didn’t get to see it happen.  
Take Shining Armor and Cadance’s “romantic” relationship in the series proper for example.  
Cadance and Shining Armor may have known each other a long time and built a wonderful loving relationship off screen. But their relationship is near non existent at this point on screen. The audience doesn’t get to see these two build their relationship and have it blossom at all. We are just told that their love is pure and wonderful without the show actually displaying the reasoning as to why the relationship is considered so loving in the first place.

it may be a little, but this imply they spend a long time knowing each other.

I might have been able to empathize with this more if their actions made sense, so now they both know they’re putting their worlds/realities at risk and are continuing with it?  
We didn’t really get to see the relationship emerge it just ‘happened’ which makes one think its more of a crush then love… then again wouldn’t be the first time FiM has done that c’est la vie.
