A response to the passive-aggressive “Positive Ponies” of Tumblr.
Christ also said to be shrewd. What good is it to throw myself in the hands of some Jeff Dahmer wannabe? Ugh.
“love thy enemy” may be a worthy ideal, but believe me, there are a lot of people who do not share that sentiment. A lot of dangerous people. I’m not saying to not care about anyone other than your family. I’m saying that family comes first. This world is way too big for Christ’s word to work its magic everywhere you go. You should hold on to his teachings, but you should also criticize them.
If you are going to play the game of life you might as well play to win. What is a man that does not aim to win, but an empty shell of regret and depression.
It’s not a “holier than thou” pile, I’ve been treating this site like a small town for a while. I’m not to be of use to all people but it’s not as though I can’t at least try where I might be able. Granted you don’t ask a doctor to fix your car transmission.
Paragraph 2: We’re probably already on the same page here although I used different wording. To illustrate: I read the “Background Pony” fic years ago which, if you’re unfamiliar, has Lyra cursed by Nightmare Moon to never be remembered. Somehow Lyra’s contributions in Ponyville (not one remembered her but they remembered what was contributed) meant something.
If I only loved those who loved me that would go against Christ’s word, simply. I can’t do that either without hurting myself, I tried it for years; Father’s a bit high strung and has been getting ruder to drivers who don’t hear him talking.

I’ll say this, you can have a respectful death. Your loved ones can look back at your death and think that at the very least you died of old age instead of a heart attack. However, only your contributions to your family and friends carry any weight. Anything outside of your performance as a father/mother/uncle or whatever has no value. Your dead body has no value. Your death has no value. There is no value in dying young. There is no value in dying old. What really has value is what your family/friends remember about you. What you said, what you made, what you did to enhance their lives. They can’t carry your dead body around and cry about how you died forever. One year. Ten years. One hundred years. You can only pray now that someone will remember you. No one will remember how you died. No one will care. We remember sacrifice, not death. Your death has no meaning. Your words are all you have.
Don’t pretend to care. Just care about the ones that love you.

You know what you can ask yourself, my good friend is, “Why the fk do I give two sts about some dumbf**k online who will have little to no impact on my actual life?” S**ts and giggles aside, to answer your question, there is no “meaningful death” , only life can have meaning. Even then, it’s debatable.

As for yourself? What can I say but opinion and ask “What actually would be a meaningful death?”

And can anyone who changes to right things rest easily?
But can a wife-beater (or anyone doing wrong) be protected from his own dreams that he brought upon himself without him changing and only doing right things?
Wish death on others willy nilly is really horrible, and damn does it happen on Tumblr a lot. But then you have people that actually DO deserve death. Beaters, who have such control over their victim, that they know they will never ever get in trouble for it, because the victim will protect them. And generally anyone that hurts others for the sake of it, or because they enjoy suffering (also known as being evil). There are people who genuinely are broken and deserve only one thing. And these people are not rare either…
On the plus side, I don’t think any of them are having internet fights here. The worst we tend to deal with are children that have not been raised properly. Wishing death on them is wrong. They still have loads of time to learn to be decent people.
