Okay this is actually cute

Is ironic what besides of the possible abusive relationship between Discord and Cosmos, the IDW comics gives Discord a better treatment than the show itself.
 
Concepts like Blaast, the real nightmare of Discord and beign nice with the children like the CMC makes more human the character and not be just a joker (Specially the episode of Principal Matters than no make sense in any form).
 
And the IDW comics actually try to give more backstory in the character thanks for things like the relationship with Blaast, the existence of a family with Princess Eris and use the discord´s home like the batterie of the draconequus (well, i said tried, but at least they win 1 of 3)

I don’t think even chaos magic could create a cutie mark. They’re one of the fundamental constants of Equestria, beyond even chaos and harmony.

I’m surprised that before the cmc got their marks they DIDNT turn to discord at some point to use his chaos magic to poof them cutie marks

That’s a good point. He “COULD” be an honorary crusader, but he’s still certainly not above messing with their heads for laughs.

Technically, the scene between Discord and Applebloom did not prove/disprove anything. It just showed the CMC not being nice to Discord: that could mean anything. It could be that he was being WIRED in that scene even for them, plus they could be disappointed in him for betraying his friends.

Well, “Make New Friends But Keep Discord” have shown that this is non-canon. Sad.

Even Discord is no match for their combined cuteness.

That comic pretty much confirmed my headcanon that Discord has a bit of a soft spot when it comes to kids.
