A “suggestion” doesn’t start off with mocking the system repeatedly. It does not involve tag wars. It does not involve an attitude of “I don’t care about the rules, they’re stupid and I do what I want”.
 
Tell me, would you be OK with a picture of “Saturn devouring his Son” with Fluttershy looking on not have a grimdark tag? What about The Third of May 1808?
 
I tire of having every moderator decision we make be contested by people that think they know better. The system is literal, that was made clear multiple times. If people want that changed they can go through the proper channels rather than cowboy and make their own rules.
 
And I care far more about making sure this place actually “works” than in being “classy”.

Those people aren’t challenging you or demonstrating igonrance about what the tag is but more like leaving comments about what it feels like the tag should be about.
 
Surely if this many people say this it must register at least on some level that it is your rules that are weird? Saying “discuss them, don’t break them” is fine (though tagging should be viewed as an easy indication of what folks think, rather than intentional atempts to cause ruckus). But ranting over how the OP even DARES to make an edit or how people even DARE suggest otherwise isn’t classy.

How you have defined the rules already set up a number of “passes” and “exceptions”. If you are being literal minded and/or heavy handed in the enforcement of some rules you’ve set yourself, you’re not being MORE reasonable, but less so.

Do you know what happens when we start to make exceptions? It’s more exceptions. If an image of a dick on an ancient mural or statue is able to skirt the normal rating system, why not classic art of people fucking?
