Comic book logic distinguishes between mutants (born with genetic aberrations) and mutates (have genetic aberrations imposed on them later in life). The X-Men are mutants, since they were born with it, while Spider-Man is a mutate, since his DNA was rearranged later on. By that logic, Twilight would be a mutate…and technically, so would the Turtles.

It turns out that the overwhelming majority of mutations are completely unnoticeable. It’s estimated that each person carries about 100 minor mutations, not inherited from either the mother or the father.

Yeah, real mutations have about the same chance of turning out good as does accessing your computers bios, sitting on the keyboard and activating the resulting code.
