“SHUT UP SURPRISE!”
“….Biiiitch.”
We weren’t discussing the joke, we were discussing the pony generations themselves. :)
To be fair, Yamcha is pretty much a joke in the original series too.
It was a Dragonball z Abridged Joke.
Actually, I believe most fans refer to My Little Pony Tales as simply Tales, rather than with a Generation number.
G1
Tales
G3/3.5
FiM(G4)/EqG(G4/G4.1)
Show generations and toy generations rarely match up.
When it comes to toy generations, it is referring to the earliest bast mold used to make them.
When it comes to show generations, it is referring to events that clearly happen in the same continucy while art charges aren’t a switch to the next gen but a tease of 1 hence the term gen 3.5. This is why My Little Pony: Tales is referred to as gen 2 rather than gen 1.5 by the show watchers.
I dunno. I always only use G2 to refer to actual G2 ponies, which rarely if ever appear (there were fewer toys and almost no artwork but they were the tall skinny ponies when they did show up anywhere). The gen number I’ve most commonly ever seen referring to Tales is G1.5
Also I see Equestria Girls as being the cocky and muscle-bound Ascended Saiyan Vegeta, who looked stronger than he was, ultimately being useless. And Rainbow Rocks would be Majin Vegeta, madly powerful and desceptively good.
I feel like such a nerd typing that out.
“Why, her face looks like 40 miles of bad road!”

There was a PC game? Cool. :) It didn’t even have that much in the UK. xD
It DID have a PC game with a few early ponies given character, but that was it for G2, in the US at least.
No, it didn’t. The comics and the TV series that went along with the G1 line both stopped a couple of years before the switch to G2, and then there were only the toys until sometime in G3.
Just out of curiosity, did G2 exist as anything other than a toy line?
G3 was arguably not as good as G1 (and G2) had been before it, and even G3.5 wasn’t actually completely terrible, but is definitely more of a “guilty pleasure” to watch. But then the Once Upon A My Little Pony Time animated shorts were made and that killed everything until FiM came out 2 years later. xD
