Here’s a better answer: the show places an emphasis on cutie marks. We know which ones apply to what characters. Thus, bands get identified with their own version of a cutie mark.

Neigh, the least expensive thing to do editwise is dubbing. If the words move, that’s more than one frame you have to redo which usually ends up looking like the words are floating.

Changing a few words is expensive? That sounds ridiculous. It’s a simple process of erase then replace. Considering everything else, it should be one of the least expensive things to do.

Perhaps, but I’ve seen plenty of other series translate the visible text or keep it in its original language.
 
Regardless, I will continue to consider the usage of emblems instead of words to be lazy.
