Not proper teaching etiquette to make one of your students look like a buffoon to the rest of the class, even if you are using it to teach a message, and even if that kid can be a bully.
 
A teacher needs to promote unity in class, not create diversity.
 
But teachers are not infallible. Cheerilee may not have realized at the time.

Well, she told them to give a deliberately wrong answer, do you mean they would have answered “green” otherwise?
 
Also, another thing to notice is that without Cheerilee’s approval, Diamond Tiara would never have conformed her answer to the CMC’s: she would have mocked them for being “dumb blank flanks” and given the right answer.
