Nice try with Lyra, but as it is stated, Lyra is an Unicorn, which used proberly an Spell to walk on clouds like Twilight, so, no, Lyra must be taken out.

When I see stuff like this I generally invoke the MST3K Mantra: “It’s just a show, you should really just relax.” Or you could invoke the Law of Narrative Causality: “Things happen because the plot says so.” In Discworld there’s actually an element called Narritivium that’s associated with the law.

Until Season 3 comes out every thing you see & hear is incomplete info with speculation filling in the blanks.
 
Hope S3 doesn’t change things too much. I have my own headcanon on alicorns and there are a few alicorn OCs that I do like.

Not bad. Though this would mean that if 2 expression positive(ee) ponies had a foal that foal would always be expression positive as well.  
This makes it uncomfortably easy to create a breeding program for super ponies.
