To be fair, it was a bit silly of me not seeing it the first time, but I think in a way, this also proves your point of just how random OP’s image is, or rather both of your points.
also, thanks for not prolonging my misunderstanding.
oh, wow. just from mentioning her name.
Yeah, I’m down for that of course. Earlier, I thought you meant more about Texas’s posts here, but I see what you mean now.
Screencapping and uploading anything the guy says anywhere that has anything MLP related in it would be “a bit much”. There are plenty of show staffers and other comic staffers making these sort of tweets and posts and whatnot, but very few of those get posted. If things like >>782293 start to proliferate here I’ll not be too happy. In an ideal world there wouldn’t be any text-only images like this to start with and this place would be a nice and dandy art-oriented site, not an archive of things people say with highly varying importance to anything.
At least Larson is actually funny.
huh.
What I don’t get is this, “posting random things seems stalky”. I can understand Texas’s interest with the drama tag being taken as that, even if it’s a bit extreme imo, but posting a random thing, how is that supposed to be interpreted as stalking?
If anything, cases that have to do with stalking are by nature more of a direct approach and the reason for that is because stalking is a term used towards obsessive behaviors towards another person, not really towards a certain thing… You can’t really intimidate / prowl over an inanimate object like a topic, for instance, as stalking refers to a victim being stalked, that is to say unless you mean to take Texas to court for stalking the Drama tag?…
to be frank, I don’t really get what you’re trying to say here.

For the record I think screencapping and posting random things like this is going into petty/stalky territory and I’ll likely start deleting it if it continues.
>not like drama
>TexasUberAlles
you must be new here.
Actually, all of the big cases of drama like this need to be posted. It’s inevitable. Just hide the drama tag of you don’t like it.
Some find it amusing rather than annoying. This also might have been posted simply because of the implications outside that particular issue.
Nobody has to start this $#!+, man. What the hell point is there to keep ripping this scab off and resalting the asswound other than to deliberately try to rile people up? This is trash tier trolling, and the only surprising or new thing about it is that TSP hasn’t (yet) kicked the door down and charged in covered in kerosene and flicking a Zippo.
Seriously, this is trash; the people who already hate this douche ain’t gonna stop, and the people who still don’t care really and truly Do Not Care.
Fun is forbidden.
again, these are just more accusations that have no proof.. the proof existed before and proof was put to good use, the IDW crew saw it and understood the problem, so the proof was used up to form one complaint and that’s the end of that story.
Unless I see him acting up again, there’s no reason to believe he’s trying to make fun of one of the target audiences at the expense of his job, his career and his crew’s second chance, I don’t think he is that irresponsibly stupid.. I know stupider cases existed, but just based on his attitude, he seems opportunistic and his career is in jeopardy right now if he gets fired, I think he’s smart enough to know when to take a better route.
I only base it on his previous behavior of lying in a place where his boss checked and then going somewhere else to correct his opinion. He’s not backstabbing the IDW crew, he’s being enabled to make fun of his audience and be a PR nightmare.
note, it wasn’t unacceptable and disallowed, it was described as being “inappropriate”, there’s a big difference if he didn’t say “not allowed”.
and yet again, I only hear things you want to believe and find reason to back up with, these aren’t things that you know for a fact are true, like that Ted likes to go behind his boss’s back with his true feelings, let me reiterate this for you as clearly as I can, you don’t know for sure if he’s not feeling at least slightly ashamed for his own team and the fact that he let it down and for that matter, neither do I, because we have no idea what went down to convince the team to keep him and making up fanciful stories like these “Ted is being enabled to backstab the IDW crew and make a mockery of them and their comics!” is really not productive in the slightest, not for me, but especially more so for you. The fact is that you don’t know that for sure, it’s just a conclusion you drew based on a hunch, you don’t have proof of that as being what is happening, it’s the oldest fallacy in the book, the Christian’s reasoning to fantasy and reality.
@Background Pony #DA4D
YES, that He does, but the crew apparently thought otherwise.
Which is a way of expressing agreement with them.
He hasn’t done that. Just put in the characters of people who would.
Nah, he deserves to be fired for being an idiot who thinks it’s okay to put his intolerant beliefs in his comics intended for kids.
I know who Sibsy is. She’s the sadist who made this.
And Ted?
They way I understood it and the way that they presented it to us was that they just told him that the OC was unacceptable and couldn’t put in OCs. And knowing Anderson’s tendencies to go behind his boss’ back with his true feelings, I can’t help but feel that Curnow felt the meeting was more effective than it actually was.
It doesn’t matter where the criticism comes from. The calls to remove him from his position came from many people and many sources, but they still decided not to. Them removing him would not mean that they are “easy to manipulate.” It would mean that they hear the concerns of their paying customers and are willing to take definite action to save their trust. If it were one single person, maybe. But firing him after all of the calls would have been the proper course of action that would have saved face for everyone.
no one said he’s an angel though, we’re not talking satan vs good / good vs evil, Ted, much to my disbelief as well as many others I’m sure, fucked up in the most terrible way anyone in his position can think of..
the thing is we don’t know any of that for sure, we actually don’t know any of what you just said in your second paragraph, what went down at their meeting and how they dealt with the situation is something that understandably, only they will ever know, because this kind of information is and should never be released to the public’s attention as it always is, it’s a personal matter that had to do with them.
I want to know how all of that is true, how Bobby just deflected all of the blame and didn’t bother to explain clearly that they’re just trying to give the guy a second chance, maybe on account of apologizing to them for fucking up so royally? Not saying that I know if he apologized to them, that’s just my guess since this affected them the most, just like you said.
I just want to see what actually happened this time, I don’t want fans to keep throwing at me these theories and deductions, I want to know what is actually going on there and if this kind of blind hate keeps going, well, I can tell with utmost certainty one of two things might definitely happen. Either IDW hates the fandom or they yield to them completely, going against their better judgement and skills of managing a team that required correction from an anonymous (and very likely unprofessional) source of the internet, neither of which would be that good in retrospect. Just think of the latter, if they yield to cries, how will that make them look then if the internet is so easy to manipulate them like that?
The “I thought it was satire!” posts on the IDW forum and his flight to TRS where he talked about how he knew it wasn’t satire.
I absolutely blame Bobby Curnow for being too lenient. He’s not doing his job well enough and not listening to fans. The mere fact that this issue happened and caused IDW negative attention should have been enough to boot Anderson for good. He’s honestly pretty foolish to think that Anderson is the angel he perceives him to be. Either he’s really that bad or he’s trying to convince himself that he’s doing a good job at not pissing off fans.
Regardless, IDW’s reputation was completely ruined in 2014 and it was their own damn fault. Anderson’s “mistake” was not a mistake, he has learned nothing from the whole situation, and Bobby Curnow did nothing but deflect blame and tell the people who buy his books that they were wrong/condescending. When people point out that it’s still an issue, they delete the post that brings it up.
refresh my memory of these public posts, I’ve long since not given a shit about this that I could use at least a small dose of it. All that I see in his twitter account right now is just the same stupid shit that every other MLP writer posts, probably even more stupid than most of them anyway.
that’s what you get when the majority gets to have the last say on the matter, regardless what defense someone has.
Personally, I don’t care if he’s all that, because he was that long before the controversy, what matters is that IDW’s decision is to not fire him and so long as they’re confident that he won’t screw up again, I’m willing to give them the benefit of a doubt.
For all the crap being thrown at Bobby Curnow, he at least acknowledges the situation as is, but what strikes me is that he’s not completely heartless and is more willing and kind to understand all of the people’s needs, All of them, by which I mean Ted Anderson himself too, because he’s human too and he has needs as well, like a job and career he was promptly taken for on behalf of being competent enough to perform it, maybe even having a personality that isn’t everything that you know?.
He did say they knew him for well over a year, I wouldn’t be too quick to brush that as utter nonsense, even though most people don’t seem to care all that much about such a bold statement.
whatever, yours may differ and your hurt feelings won’t allow any forgiveness, if I was following these comics, I wouldn’t have made such a big deal out of it so long as the message got across, which it did for all intents and purposes, IDW admitted to something having gone horribly wrong with that issue and thus, they acknowledged the concerns as having been a legitimate issue. Firing a person on account of it was something they would decide and they decided against it, your personal feelings I feel are lacking in value as they know better the people that they’re working with, especially in an environment like theirs where they constantly interact with one another.
If you that feel you can’t trust them, then don’t, but don’t start assuming the worst and insult people left and right just because of a gut reaction. Show some patience, Ted working there is not the end of the world, hell, it isn’t ANYTHING, I Don’t know One thing he did for the team just yet and they say they’re not that hot on the idea of firing him, why is that is a much more interesting question, seeing how they seem to value him enough to overlook such a blatant mistake.
Maybe there is more to this than you might think, maybe some patience actually wouldn’t fucking hurt to show for once!?….
whatever, I’m just ranting at this point, the thing is don’t be a hypocritical asshole, kinda like the ones you’re talking shit against. If you have something to uphold, it generally is seen as better to practice it than to just talk about it, so it would really be amazing if both sides could just hold their politics in their god damn pockets, because we’re not here for fucking politics and we didn’t need Dragondicks making a cameo for the same reason, so do yourselves a favor and don’t derail this relation that you still have going.
