It was rehearsed in the past. The recent revival is on a flat track and takes things more seriously.

I’m guessing it’s a visual shout out to Harry Potter - another famous wizard, with a scar, yah? :D
Yeah, that’s my best guess.
I got that, looking at the other pictures. Now I’m only stuck on Scarswirl, I think it’s the one with the lightning bolt on her face.
Shadowsmacks is the foreground one in the top right panel and central in the middle panel. (with the dark coat + eye markings).
But here they show a lot more of it instead of a tiny clip. :D
The Cadance lookalike is Shining Harmer.
