I don’t complain much about them being terrible thanks to my low bar, but i do ask myself about their length and them being unifinished and abandoned in 2016.

Okay, when I saw “terrible fanfics”, I thought it mean stories with bad grammar, bad spelling, and no understanding of proper storytelling. Cheerilee’s Garden is a competently written story, tightly structured, and with creative murder scenes. It sometimes uses cliched phrases, and some of the deaths defy reality (though the “magic” defense could be used, I guess). The ending seemed rushed to me, though that’s only a matter of opinion.
 
If that is what passes as a terrible fanfic, then the fanfics in this fandom are of higher than average quality.

Did you read the one with Spike and Madara Uchiha? Its a little chringe-worthy trying to imagine the characters acting that way but I don’t think its terrible.

It would have helped if I’d stuck to my old heuristic of “don’t read anything that consistently omits commas or fucks up common homophones”, however.

I’ve read 10 alternate-universe fics from Harry Potter and Naruto in the last week
 
8 of them were terrible
 
1 was okay
 
1 was absolutely fucking fantastic omfg
