I actually pictured him closer to Pinkie Pie. He’s trying to help people (in his own way) and everyone else thinks he is crazy in how he sees the world, even though he is actually right.

Yup, the world was literally a stage. Nobody knows why but the entire thing was a fabrication of Big Venus. The argument that holds the most water is that Big Venus was constantly resetting its world to filter out the good from the bad and essentially be the god of judgement to decide who lives and who dies. Hence why it erased Alex Rosewater and started the world again without him in it.
