Celestia, Luna, Cadance are like the immortal Hourai Eilxir-ers from Touhou :
Celestia = Mokou = Firey immortals
Luna = Kaguya = Moon princess immortals
Cadance = Eirin = Caring immortals

…Or what happens in this comic happens.

Or Celestia cuts you down after you’ve passed out, and she totally knows all about it and you don’t mind because you trust her because she’s Celestia and you’re Luna.

If you’re Moondancer - the most isolated person possible, almost, then in a city, they’ll eventually come to demolish the house - inspect it because it’s condemned, etc. or whatnot, and find you hanging there. Then you’ll run into the awkward having to explain things situation. That could rapidly spiral out of control.

In a more rural place, a house can go a lot longer before someone from the city comes to inspect it or tax people come because its taxes aren’t being paid, etc., but it’s kinda rare for any substantial structure to ever just be left on its own forever, so being unconscious for anything more than a decade or so is very unlikely, assuming you do it in some building.

Doing it elsewhere, weathering will destroy the ropes eventually. Shouldn’t take more than a few months, no matter what. Except for a dry desert, maybe, then it may last some years before breaking.

Then your state depends on how the rules of immortality work. I’d assume they involve being immune to brain death and/or paralysis, or that you’d at least naturally heal from those.

Or you could just eventually get someone you trust enough to play the same role as Celestia in the first two paragraphs, then explore your hanging fetish.

Really love this comic, tho, ‘cause I hate actual death, and this is dangerous, but if you’re immortal and doing it in this context…

As for your black hole statement; yep. Even if the sun was massive enough, if you were to replace the sun in our solar system with a one solar mass black hole, nothing about the planets’ orbits would change. The black hole’s circumference is proportional to its mass - for one solar mass, it’s about 18 km, as opposed to the sun’s circumference of 700,000 km. All the really weird black hole gravity stuff only starts happening when you get within a few of the black hole’s radii. Outside of that, gravity acts almost exactly like Newton describes, nothing too exotic.

What happens to someone who falls into a real black hole is pretty cutting-edge physics, though - nobody really knows with much certainty. It’d be interesting, no matter what.

Honestly I’m a little jealous. I’m not suicidal or anything, but
I’ve had wet dreams were I’m hanging
. If I were only immortal, I could do it infinitely safely, for long periods of time, experiment with long drops, short drops, bucket kicking… All without worrying about any accidents.
Sigh… If only.

Immortal people can still be injured and knocked unconscious. Under the right conditions, that would be worse than being mortal.
If your neck breaks, even if you can heal it, you’ll just start suffocating, just with a broken neck and no way to stop via death.
If you suffocate to the point of passing out, you have to wait until your unconscious body is discovered, suffering from all the effects of brain-damage, temporary or not. If it isn’t discovered, you are asleep and unable to die, forever. Basically you are effectively dead but instead of an insignificant but not quite zero percent probability of an afterlife, you are absolutely certain to have none, because you didn’t actually die.
If someone finds you, you now have to decide between killing them or allowing either the reveal that you are hoarding all the immortality or a misunderstanding where everyone thinks you are suicidal.
If you wake up but nobody finds you, you have to figure out a way to explain how you survived being oxygen-deprived so long, and if it was long enough, why nobody knows you exist.
If it’s long enough but you wake up, you have to dig through dirt for a while. No discovery means the house probably fell in on itself and the townspeople are gone. Digging for a few weeks with your bare hands can kill your mind, even if your body will survive.
If you outlive the Sun, you now have to deal with one of two things, either you have been consumed by the Sun and are now a sentient vapor that cannot move of its own free will and is slowly being spread further apart, eternally slowing down your thought process, or you are a complete body, unable to move anyway, because you can’t swim in space.

Luckily, you will not be consumed by a black hole, as our sun will not go supernova when it dies, so you have that.

It’s actually rather cute when you realize that they’re just role-playing (somewhat erotically?). I’m pretty sure they are, because 1) Celestia should already know she’s immortal, 2) she pretended to choke, 3) is that what you wanted? Art thou satisfied? And 4) if Luna meant what she said, she’d be in Nightmare form.

Not sure if I’m being enlightening or just saying what everyone else thought was obvious >.>
