tbh if they weren’t shit at teaching math (especially in the usa GOD DAMNN) then you probably would have more chances to use it.
I use a logarithm to decide which song to play next on my player. most people can only use shuffle and wish that it worked better. they’ll never use logarithms again yeah, and their player won’t allow them to since restriction = profit, but… my songs will all get played enough w/out any songs showing up too often. and that’s kind of nice
just a f/i
cosecant is just the reciprocal of the sine so anyone who uses sine uses cosecant.
you know how when cars pass you they get closer, like, faster, then farther away slower? even if you don’t know how close they’re going to get, just take the time from (or before) the point they get closest, and their velocity, and the angle at that time, when you point at them facing the road (w), and the distance to that car at any given time is v * t * csc(w)
or v * t / sin(w) if you prefer.
when w = 0 it’s an asymptote, but if you take the limit approaching w=0 you can discover how close that car is going to get to you, even if it’s still far away. which is a good way to avoid getting hit. but since you had shit teachers you think that calculus and limit theory is useless.
@FanOfMostEverything
I fucking hate math. Quadratics were bad enough, and then they went and threw in logarithms and cosecants and all sorts of other weird shit I’ll never use again in my life.
Yeah, I would’ve made it…
Edited
I know that. The point is it was incredibly painful to do so and I’ll never need to again.

This makes me feel less bad about not being able to solve this in my head
x 2 - x - 3 = 0
Huh. That’s not a clean factor. It’s definitely not basic algebra if you have to break out the quadratic formula. In any case, x = (1 ± √13)/2
