It’s not a big leap of logic, as we have not only the moon as cutie mark, but a similar look to Luna as well.
 
I have already speculated about that this pegasus mare could be a descendant of a child of Luna that she gave birth to before she was banished to the moon in my journal entry:

It would be tragic if that turns out true, because that would mean that Luna had lost her child when she was banished…..
 
I’m actually surprised that this pegasus mare, with how similar it looks to Luna, hasn’t gotten any attention yet by the fandom. :)

Meh, a large monster or cunning villain would do it. Chrysalis was such a big threat not because she blasted Celestia but because she already captured the city without having to do so.

Why must all the premier and finale villains be insanely good magic users?

We might see another story-arch heavy season and get a formula breaking villain (i.e. not one of those obviously evil dark overlord types).

Last season gave us ascended fridge horror and two story arcs that weren’t three episodes long and this season gives us a recurring villain. What could be better.

Your right they did do that, so I guess it is very likely that they just spoiled the end to the second episode, given that possibility as I said before on the other picture, its likely we have a villain who gets away this time.

I don’t remember any of the trailers showing the end of the opener last season or the finale. Though its been a long while since I’ve watched them so I could very well be wrong. Maybe they did with other episodes? Again its been a while so I don’t know if I’m remembering the Trailers/Sneak Peaks or the Episodes themselves.

I can’t really give Hasbro the benefit of the doubt since they have shown big spoilers in trailers in the past.
 
Alicorn Twilight was shown two weeks before the season 3 finale aired, plus they shown Twilight’s library getting blown up in a trailer a week before the season 4 finale.
