I only mentioned Trixie to say that like Sunset Shimmer, she came back with a powerful magical artifact that turned her into a real threat. Starlight was a real threat with a pretend magical artifact. Imagine what she could do with a real one.
 
But Discord’s still being counted as having been redeemed, despite everything he’s done. That was my point.
 
I’ve given it some thought, and I think I’ve figured out why Sunset went crazy. If she’s anything like Twilight (as she ought to be, due to previously mentioned ‘star pupil’ status), then she’d probably also figured out that the return of Nightmare Moon was a real thing. In fact, that was quite likely her initial reason for wanting enough power to take on an alicorn. But because of the restriction on using the portal, she wasn’t able to return in time. So until the portal opened again, as far as she knew Nightmare Moon had destroyed Equestria, leaving her stranded in an alien world in the body of one of the aliens, and with no hope of ever returning. Since the destiny she was running away from was likely saving the world (at least in her mind), she then assumed that the (perceived) loss of her old home and everypony she knew was all her fault. So she took a blow to her sanity and was hit with a ton of grief and survivor’s guilt, which she happened to stave off by winning Prom Princess in humanland… up until the portal was opened and she discovered everything was fine. Equestria had been saved from Nightmare Moon, by somepony other than Sunset Shimmer. Sunset suddenly feels that, since what she believed was her destiny was actually somepony else’s, her life lost all meaning. Naturally, she resents the other pony.
 
On one of (presumably several) trips through the portal, she finds out that there is suddenly a city in the middle of the frozen wastes where she found the mirror. There she learns that her strongest contender for “Celestia’s favorite” now has the role, saved the world, was physically and administratively promoted to Princess, and wears an Element of Harmony as a crown. By now she’s really picking up momentum on the downward spiral, because in Twilight she sees everything she could have had if only she hadn’t run away. In a fit of spite, or perhaps desperate to remind everypony of her existence, she steals Twilight’s crown and runs back through the portal with it. As with Trixie and the Amulet, the Crown fills Sunset with delusions of grandeur, inciting her to plan (terribly) to take over both worlds.
 
Chrysalis has indeed been set up to be a recurring villain, barring the fact that the Mane 6 are going to greet her with immediate hostility, kind of ruling out the possibility of opening a path to redemption for her. I’m very certain, however, that Starlight’s going to make a second appearance because Twilight mentioned “giving her time to think about it” which usually means the show is going to later reveal what conclusion she’s reached.
 
Tirek was a great villain, but I think the show’s done with him.
 
The show was intended for small children. Hence the TVY7 rating. However, it was written by adults who are no doubt making a game of what they can slip past the ESRB’s notice.

Really your trying to compare Trixie with the likes of Chryisals, and Tirek? or Possibly Discord? Ya see I just don’t see Trixie as being “Evil”… Misguided, and spiteful towards Twilight and her Friends… Yes! Evil not so much. Besides I think its time for Trixie to find a new Shtick.
 
As to Discord, I guess I kinda see why it needed to be that way. As (I think I said), his “Joking” would have also gotten old fast!
 
As to Sunset… (I’m not even sure that I still accept the fact that EG is even canon. Related sure… Canon? IDK), I don’t think we really know much about her to be honest. The Sirens had more of a back story in EGII then Sunset ever had. Other then the age-old tale of Power Lust. For starters, why go back to Equestria, and steal the unknown Crown of some new Princess? You’d think that she [Shimmer] wouldn’t have cared anymore?
 
I guess Tierk is back to hosting Jeopardy (In Pony Hell!). He was perhaps the most EPIC Villain to date. But I guess like the Smooze he was just a G1 shoutout.
 
I guess that leave just Chrissy (The ULTIMATE EVIL?), to come back… If ever, and possibly Starlight… If the Writers give her enough Credit. I could see Chrysalis outright refusing redemption. (As it should be!), I think if they could let Trixie get away with it for Five Years, then Starlight Glimmer should be in with a shot too.
 
The whole “Little Kids” thing needs to be re-evaulated. Again I direct your attention to Episodes S01E25 though S02E03, and tell me again how Kid Friendly those Eps were! Considering how this “Fandom” has made of with that Material. (Though I’ll grant you Cupcakes did only slightly pre-date Pinkamena), I for One refuse to see it as just pure coincidence.

You might want to pack your bags then, because the ponies still hang around Discord, even with all the shit he did up until his incarceration, during the redemption process, and after he had gained their trust. His betrayal significantly contributed to Tirek’s campaign to bring all of Equestria down on their faces, and he didn’t even get a stern reproof.
 
Or would you perhaps prefer that she adamantly resisted her redemption? That would be a first. But a pony who dug her hooves in and refused to accept a second chance would, I think, inevitably spiral further into the insanity that corrupted her intentions with the town. Her beliefs that everypony is out to get her would become a self-fulfilling prophecy. She might become like Trixie or Sunset and find a (real this time) powerful magical artifact to boost her efforts at revenge, or as with Luna, become fueled by her negative emotions and turn into a monster in that manner. IMO, that’s a bit dark for a show intended for small children.

I don’t think she’ll be redeemed, but most-likely arrested and life in prison to think about what she has done. She may realize she failed at some point, but I don’t think they would redeem her.
 
Now Sunset Phoenix is a different story.

Yeah this Show has had some very (IMHO all too brief), encounters with the dark side… But when they happen like it did ‘round the end of S01, beginning of S02 (i.e. S01E25 - Party of One ~ S02E03 - Lesson Zero), then that Epoch had the BEST MOMENTS so far…
 
So yeah I kinda have a hard on for Starlight… ‘Cause I always wanted a real villain Baddie to reck Twi’s shyeaa. I’m just scared shyeaaless that the Writers, will try and redeem her. I might have to give up this Fandom if that really does happen!

What I meant to >imply was that it was One of the best Lines Pinkie has had in the entire Show up till now… I guess if anything… Its more about my “Humor” then you…

I thought I was more or less agreeing with you. I actually like that Line. More so then “You can not have Nightmares, if you never Dream…” Which was also One of those very few Moments that make me love this Show sooo much. They are rare as heck… But when they pass WOW!
