Guess this is what everyone calls “an artist’s own interpretation” while the “Fluttershy-Spike-Chopper-Usopp” will continue to be a hot button topic, i still take some measure of enjoyment upon seeing other’s renditions of MLP x One Piece fanarts. My headcannon doesn’t match others and that’s okay as long as we are not being a complete a-hole to each other about it (like certain other fandoms hint hint).

Exactly. Were changing genders for most of their characters, an age difference isn’t going to make much difference when the roles fit so perfectly the other. Fluttershy and Chopper have similar personality traits to Usopp and Spike, but their are stark differences.
 
So I guess among the crew and alt-protagonists we would get
 
Pinkie D. Pie as Luffy  
Rainbow Dash as Zoro  
Twilight Sparkle as Nami  
Fluttershy as Chopper  
Applejack as Sanji  
Spike as Usopp  
Rarity as Nico Robin  
Vinyl Scratch as Franky(her role and tech in Rainbow Rocks cemented it)  
Good Discord as Brooks (Cheese Sandwich was another possibility)  
and Sunset Shimmer as Sabo.

Which is why that piece of dialogue would work better coming from Spike IMO. Doesn’t feel natural coming from Shy.
 
And the missed opportunity of RD calling Spike “Dragonzoid” “Dragonstorm” etc is sad.

I love this arc! Been watching it on Toonami for the past year, and it’s kept me entranced the entire time; for a shonen series, that’s quite the accomplishment. Today’s episode finally saw Zoro and Sniper King unshackled, yay! Kick CP9’s ass and save Nico Robin!!!!

Maybe its bias because despite the fact that I don’t like One Piece, I still love the crap out of Zoro and Usopp, but I don’t care. This scene was amazing.

And yes, Spike would be an amazing Usopp. Awesome reactions, and he’s got a excellent mix of fear and gutsiness.
