Actually, I think that’s Luna’s queen-equivalent, and her king-equivalent is the one on the far left (it has the same long mane as Celestia’s). It’s still not checkmate, but it’s a perfectly valid move; it’s just a rather careless one since Celestia can just capture with her king-equivalent.
