Asuka is my favorite character. Probably because of her superiority complex to reassure herself of a self worth she doesn’t feel she actually has. I relate to that. Also she reminds me of one of my sisters.
@Deserter
The AT field is made by the pilot, but it’s the soul in the Evas that allowed it to be moved by the pilot.
Basically it’s Shinji and Asuka making the AT Field for there Evas but || their mothers souls being in them || that allow them to synchronization with them so they can move them and project the AT field in the first place.
@Deserter
I already knew of that, I also don’t really care if I see spoilers as for me as long as I havn’t seen how things play out it doesn’t really spoil it for me.
@Prof.NightJack
And since she pilots Unit 03 she almost gets killed and doesn’t appear in the climax of 2, so it’s win-win for you in case you don’t like her movie adaptation either.
Also, that’s an actual spoiler for the movie, so, you know, don’t hover over that if you don’t want it spoiled.
@Ichijoe
Control over the mech is given by the ‘synchronization,’ with higher levels allowing the pilot to basically move their giant robot as easily as if it were its own body, thanks to proprioception or full vision. However, since it’s a psychic link, damage to the mech that would previously just be represented as painful sensations for the pilot would actually start causing physical harm. And considering Asuka’s synch percentage was well over 100% at this point…

No need, really. Just give him wings and some red accents and we’re done here.
Yeah, I know. I seen it.

I always figured Rei herself provided the AT Field.
You know, being part Angel and all that.
You mean the mothers of two and the other is unknown and the one it’s theorised to be isn’t the mother of the last pilot.
Ah yes. EVA spoiler: It’s messed up that they used their parents.
Well it’s kinda needed. The EVA Units arent even robots.

I have yet to see them but I know about how the version of her in it isn’t a huge bitch I like that.
One of the many reason that when you set back and look at it, you can see how messed up things are in that universe.
@Poptard
What a stupid system… For the Pilot, that is.

You mean that, after striking Asuka, the Spear went on to kill Bulma? COOL!
Basically, all damage suffered to the mech is also inflicted on the pilot.
