The only justification I can give is that their body is literally some sort of diamond-like substance (as seen in some films where when a vampire rips another’s head off, there’s a hard tear, like glass breaking, and you get to see bits of jewelery in the wound) And that in the sunlight, it just makes them shine like the diamonds they are.
