Seeing as though AB’s anxiety came from the idea of having non-apple cutiemark like her family, the more fitting analogy in my opinion would be the family that disowns their son/daughter for not having the same or similar career. Like the son of several generations of policemen choosing to become a journalist to the family’s dismay.
There’s also the fact that Applebloom getting kicked out of the family for not having an apple-related cutie mark works strikingly well as a metaphor for being disowned for being gay or a lesbian.
