To be fair, they WANTED to give Flygon a Mega Evolution, but apparently Sugimori and pals couldn’t think up of a suitably awesome design design in time for the release of ORAS, so it was unfortunately dropped from the game. Hopefully this means that there’s a chance Flygon will finally get its Mega Evolution in Pokemon Z or X2 and Y2 or whatever the next game(s?) is/are going to be called.
