Who knows? And yeah, I’ve seen some so-called fans who are oddly very negative. Still, I think there might be hope for Nintendo, and the gaming industry/media in general. I wouldn’t worry to much.

Y’know, I remember many fans were begging Nintendo to make a new old-school-style “Star Fox” game like the first SNES & N64 games, and they finally did with “Star Fox Zero.” However, some are now complaining that it’s not like “Star Fox Adventures,” or “SFAssault,” or doesn’t have Krystal in it, or something. (Keep in mind this is a small amount of people.)

It’s kinda like how after some complained about Windwaker’s “Toon-shaded” style graphics for years, when “Twilight Princess” was first announced/shown, some turned around, and complained it looked to “gritty,” or to “Lord of the Rings”-like.

So even if you try to give people what they want, some will still complain regardless. Can’t please everyone. (And some “fans” will just never be pleased.)

I know. Doesn’t help that some so-called “nintendo fans” are getting into the act. And I feel, if there is a gonna be another video game crash, a good part of the cause would be gamers.

It’s a shame really as it’s giving gaming a bad rep’ overall all this negativity.

I see gaming news articles acting like Nintendo is “going out of business,” (just ‘cause the WiiU is third place) and such which are horribly exaggerated. (One article writer remarking, “I’ll be playing Mario & Metroid on PS4 soon.”) Third-place doesn’t automatically mean “failing.” (and it has sold several million units, people forget.) Not to mention people forget the 3DS is practically the most successful video game system this generation. (According to Wiki, it’s sold more units then the PS4, and has more games for it then any other console on the market now.) But sense it’s a portable, people don’t regard the 3DS hardly at all. (And at game awards, it hardly wins any.)

I even remember seeing some gamers make rather rude remarks about Satoru Iwata’s death. Which is totally tasteless, and disgusting.

I know, but there seems to be more of it lately. I see it as another symptom of what’s going on in gaming recently. Corrupt game developers, corrupt game journalism, corrupt indie developers, and a lot of gamers being hypocritical fucks.

Well, it’s been around sense the “SNES VS Sega” days, it’s really nothing new. As a Nintendo fan I just try to tolerate it as much as I can.

WiiU gets alot of undeserved flack though. I always see people omit it from articles or discussions about modern game consoles, and such or joke that it’s “not a game console.” Even some people “professional” third-party game companies feel that way. (Especially, that hack Bob Summerwill who pretty much confirmed EA does hate Nintendo now with his biased/fanboy-ish anti-Nintendo/WiiU statements.)

Ironically, Nintendo made the WiiU in order to “win back” the “hardcore gaming” audience (hence why it had stuff like Assassin’s Creed, Bayonetta, and other “hardcore” games people used to bitch about Nintendo not having, yet it’s never enough for them) so I fear sadly, the flack over the WiiU might turn Nintendo off the “hardcore” gamer market next generation, and go back to the Wii’s strategy of focusing on the “casual” market, and only on the “hardcore” market in short bursts. (Nothing against “casual games,” I just fear that will ruin Nintendo’s rep’ even more, but then again, why cater to an audience that hates them?)

Overall, I really think Nintendo shot themselves in the foot starting the whole “casual & hardcore” terms in regards to games, as it’s really divided up gamers. Some so-called “hardcore” gamers assume anything “casual” is “bad,” or not a “real game,” as a result. (Even though beloved games like “Duck Hunt,” or “Tetris” would be considered “casual” nowadays.)

On a lighter note, my niece & nephews really seems to like “Super Mario Bros. 3,” and my other NES games, so surprisingly some kids in this generation do like old-school games, and Nintendo. (I guess it helps that modern games kids are into now like “Angry Birds,” are just as simple as some of the old games like “Wrecking Crew.”)

Is she really that much of a Nintendo fan? Nice to see Nintendo gets some love from this younger “Angry Birds/PS4” gamer generation. (Despite WiiU’s reputation.)

Also, her Daddy did voicework for “Captain N,” I recall. (As well as Megaman, Adventures of Sonic, and Sonic Underground.)
